I didn't see this post but I just finished posting pretty much what you said.

That's what we score in a fight.
Oh ok...so Kovalev landed more punches and the more damaging puches, i.e. his punches were mroe effective (thus the knock down and the quite apparent facial damage to Ward).

By your own criteria (I didn't put any words in your mouth) KOvalev won the fight.

That usually happens when you have a weak standpoint.

I'm rewatching the fight right now and i'm gonna make a thread where I challenge kovalev fans to tell me which rounds they thought kovalev won and i'll pinpoint every single punch landed in that round.
In a close fight fans are always going to support the fighter they picked to win. It's the same in any sport that has subjective judging. In this case Kovalev came out ahead. The world isn't going to end. Then again there's that whole Trump as President thing and that guy in North Korea with nukes.

I didn't say kovalev landed more damaging punches though did I? You did.

I'm watching the fight right now and so far the biggest weapon of the night is Ward's Jab.

I'm a boxing fan and the only fighter I pick to win is the guy that landed most and the guy that landed hardest. It's not that hard to score a fight if you're not blind.

Darkseid, who can forget when Ward damaged Kovalev so badly that Kovalev started sticking his head out between the ropes to make the referee safe him from getting KTFO? Epic mpment. Ward was the one who did the most damage.

A fight might be hard to score when you're watching it live, but when you're watching a replay, there's no doubt who won, because you can see every punch.

Kovalev's jab dominated the first 4 rounds, and they both landed a similar amount of jabs in the fight (48 vs 55).

Considering Ward is a light puncher, as is his jab, there's absolutely no way you can say it was the biggest weapon of the night.
