It's a lot different when you're on the outside looking in. You can criticize and say what somebody else should be doing but when you get in the game you realize it ain't easy. But they're making the same mistake PBC made when they first started. Putting cards up against major sporting events.Comment

I'm talking about the boxing on free TV game. They're used to taking HBO money and not worrying about ratings.
But I've noticed nobody is wrtiting articles about the ratings. Haven't really seen many people on Twitter talking about these ratings.Comment

People don't really write much about the Tuesday FS1 shows either, small budget shows to develop prospects shouldn't be expected to do the ratings of big events (like HBO/Showtime cards or big network PBC cards)
For what they are, I quite enjoy the Tuesday night cards and I've enjoyed both GB on ESPN cards as well.Comment

On a competitive -- though not highly rated -- Saturday night, Premier Boxing Champions held its own. The latest edition of Premier Boxing Champions on

Golden Boy is making the same deliberate mistake that Top Rank did
After opening the series with a decently competitive prospects fight night, Oscar seems to have reverted to the same **** matchups that they held onto for their Estrella TV series.
The series needs to be given a chance to try and build an audience, but it's not going to build anything if they're already sandbagging the matchups.Comment

They tape delayed the fight on ESPN2 and aired it live on Live stream on ESPN3. So that rating is for anyone who watched the replay after already knowing the results. Golden boy and even Dan Rafael live tweeted and advertised fans to watch live on ESPN3.
They tape delayed to try and avoid the NCAA Final Four which aired the same time. It would be interesting to find out what the numbers were for the live broadcast on ESPN3 but I don't think ESPN releases those figures. Need to wait till ESPN airs it's next fight to see how it compares to the first card this fight basically being a replay of a fight makes it hard to compare to the Quigley card which was actually a live sporting event.Last edited by bigdunny1; 04-04-2017, 10:52 PM.Comment
