GGG's intentions for a minute now have been to collect every MW title in the observable universe.

So BJS I guess it is.

Unifications for the simple sake of them sometimes don't mean much, but it has been a goal of Golovkin's.

Don't think BJS has the tools to really give GGG any serious issues.

    Probably ends before the 9th.

Saunders didn't look good in his last fight. He admits it. But its not like he's turned to crap all of a sudden. Dude is an undefeated olympian who's a world champion in the pro ranks beating a solid world champion in Andy Lee.

He's switched to working with Adam Booth now, so you know he'll be in excellent shape.

I like the GGG vs BJS fight. I don't think BJS can necessarily win, but it's good competition and good for the division to have an undisputed champ for the first time in ages.

I like the Canelo fight over the BJS fight, but that didn't seem to be the question. I also like the Jacobs rematch if not for the Canelo fight.

Any of those three are good with me.

That's where I'm standing too. Having an Undisputed champ in an era where the IBO title is becoming somehow legit is a good thing, no matter if you like GGG or not.

I thought Ward was going to be undisputed, same with Klitschko. None of that happened for different reasons...

Plus, if Golovkin will win it will put even more pressure on Oscar to make the Canelo fight happen.

From my perspective, now, it's just the unification really. Was a time that I thought Saunders could offer a decent fight, even if winning would be a very long shot... but after the Akarov debacle? Not so much.

However there is Golokvin's angle to think of too ... fighting in front of 70,000 screaming fans at Wembly ... sorry, sorry ... 30,000 screaming fans at Astana, but you take the point. It's the kinda chance that might only come around once in a guys life. And for the undisputed crown? If I'm Golovkin I'm probably thinking fuck it - Ima do it cos I want to. And probably there's a lil bit of a fuck you in there to Oscar too.

Unification all the way. Saunders needs to be taken out; he's clogging up the works.

After Saunders last fight, it's hard to say BJS v Golovkin is a great fight anymore. However, I still think there's a lot of reasons why it's a legit fight and needs to happen. Before it gets booked and everyone "takes sides", what's your thoughts on this?

How legit of a challenge is Saunders still? Does it even matter and is the unification aspect more important than going after the biggest challenge (Canelo or Degale) right now?
IMO, unifying is the most important. Like it or not, championship belts are seen as an objective measure of greatness by the boxing world. It's understandable for GGG to want to get all four major belts (actually ALL FIVE, as some consider the IBO a legitimate major organization).

I mean, it's not like those other great fights are going anywhere, are they?

GGG is an active fighter, and there's no reason to believe after unifying with Saunders, he wouldn't fight again in the fall/winter against a good name at 168.

Obviously most of us want to see the Canelo fight before he moves to 168, but if it can't get made this year, then he can go and fight at 168. And again, all because ehe goes up, doesn't mean he then can't come back to 160 in the spring for a Canelo fight.

This is important to GGG, and to many boxing fans, to see all the titles unified for the first time since Hopkins.

Those other fights aren't going anywhere.

It would be nice to see a unified champion again, then I'd like to see him rematch Jacobs followed by fighting either Canelo or moving up to 168.
