Why should Golovkin fight Saunders?

Damn, what an entrance! Was that yesterday? So few boxers have good entrances. Kills me. Been a minute since I watched a Wresltemania but I used to drop by my buddy's house every year to catch those kinds of theatrics^. As a musician, I love seeing the techniques people use to get a crowd to go ape-shyt.
Yeah Mania was lit, best one in years. I don't keep up with WWE but only tune in to major PPVs if theres a lot of buzz on social media. Heres one from the 'Nature-Boy's' daughter one of my fav entrances...styling and profiling!Comment

Yeah that's not going on here : he was promoted WBC champion and should be trying to avenge the unofficial L to Jacobs. He can collect all belts but there are valid question marks to be considered 'undisputed' not even Canelo being lineal cant claim that status...these guys are not on the level of B-hop.Comment

You forgot an option for money. If the fight is worth 10mil to ggg like it's been rumored, he should take it on the strength of that primarily and unification secondary. What he should not do is bank on getting canelo in September.Poll is multiple choice.
After Saunders last fight, it's hard to say BJS v Golovkin is a great fight anymore. However, I still think there's a lot of reasons why it's a legit fight and needs to happen. Before it gets booked and everyone "takes sides", what's your thoughts on this?
How legit of a challenge is Saunders still? Does it even matter and is the unification aspect more important than going after the biggest challenge (Canelo or Degale) right now?Comment

There's actually a number of reasons for Golovkin and Saunders to fight. No one knows what's going to happen with the Canelo fight whether it will happen this year or not, it's not guaranteed. Golovkin has spoke about unification for years now, so this is his golden opportunity.
As far as Saunders, is he a tough match up like Jacobs or does he present the danger of power punching like Lemieux, no. But Billy Joe Saunders is a good fighter, granted he's not great but he's a good fighter. He beat 2 of the top 10 middleweights Chris Eubank Jr and Andy Lee. He has good hand speed, decent boxing skills and is elusive and can be cute at times. So yes it is a good challenge for Triple G. For the Undisputed Middleweight Championship, yeah get it done. Let's get this fight made. Hopefully, God willing the Golovkin-Canelo fight can be made afterwards.
For those that haven't seen Billy Joe Saunders fight, here is a short highlight video of his fights and fighting style:

I'm not gonna lie. A total middleweight unification is my main motivation. It would be a beautiful thing for boxing. What I don't want to happen, which very well could, is for GGG to win and then move up and split it all apart again. A unified champion would make for more competitive matches. We just had Lemieux-Stevens and we're about to get Murray-Rosado. Now those aren't great fighters but they can make for fun competitive fights and they probably wouldn't happen if each of these guys held a belt. With one champion, you get a lot better fights since to be the man, there's only one man to beat and you have to fight like hell to get the opportunity.Poll is multiple choice.

Other than that, I think it could be an interesting fight for a while, although I see GGG being more aggressive with BJS than he was with Jacobs. Jacobs can swat but BJS isn't known for great power. If GGG did win it and hang around a while, Canelo would have to fight him eventually and Jermall Charlo and Chris Eubank Jr. would present an interesting challenge. The division is heating up IMO because we have almost one champion. This is great for boxing. All divisions should unify.Comment

Saunders last fight against Akavov was an aberration. He was out for a year after the Andy Lee fight with injuries and failed negotiations from his own doing. He ballooned up in weight during the time off before his fight with Akavov and was over 200 pounds 8 weeks before the fight. He was even critical of himself after his fight with Akavov. Since then he's been in the gym, changed trainers and has been sparring with Andy Lee since they have the same trainer now. Andy Lee said that he was very impressed with Saunders skills and hand speed. I think Saunders feels good about fighting GGG now because he's in way better shape than last year.
He ain't Liam Smith that's for sure. Saunders has way better skill and has hand speed. He has the pedigree, former Olympic boxer in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. So yeah, good fight for Triple G before hopefully the Canelo fight.Comment
