The Kazakh head of tourism is being quoted as saying the fight is on for July 17. This makes sense with Loeffler saying they are looking at best time for kazakstan and uk, obviously they couldn't make June 10 work.

Assuming this is true, Golovkin had to choose between unifying and waiting on Canelo, and clearly choose not to wait, which is smart after all the time wasted chasing martinez-cotto-canelo in the past.

Loeffler may be banking on Mayweather McGregor landing in September, as Mayweather likes to fight on Mexican holidays. Gbp would be a fool not to move off of September, as dumb as may-mc is, it will do more than Canelo. If Canelo has to fight October or November, Golovkin could be ready for that date. We should know more when Mayweather officially announces his fight.
