Other than carefully checking the judge if he is ripe for corruption or be incompetent. You can't really do anythign about it. Each rounds are scored subjectively unless it is blatantly obvious on who won the round, but it all comes down to perspective.

I've been to shows where you can see judges almost falling asleep on the chair because I fight is dull and boring and that's what happens with bad decisions they lose concentration... too many judges are sign from sight unseen or record that is of minimal value

You can start by having a replay system to review headbutts, knockdowns and low blows.

Then you get to the way rounds are scored. Scoring will always be subjective but I think it wouldn't hurt to add more judges so one guy with an off night doesn't ruin a fighters career.

Decisions will always lean towards the more marketable fighter if the fight is close. That has been the case since the beginning.

I used to be super critical of judges, but then I took a step back & started looking at some rulebooks again. The rules of scoring are completely f#cking ******ed. Its far too broad of a criteria given to judges to decide what wins a round. Giving the judges the rulebook they are given & expecting scorecards that make sense is like giving a 3 year old some crayons, 6 novels & a coloring book & only expecting the child to mark up the coloring book when you come back to check on him/her in 20 minutes.

Also another huge problem is that the 10 point must system is f#cking ******ed too. Commissions don't want you to give 10-10 rounds (seen a video a month or so ago with the Nevada Commission guy & he said no quality judge should EVER give a 10-10 round which sounds insane to me). And they also don't want you to give 10-8 rounds unless there is a knockdown or you damn near see a murder during the round. So you got clearly & cleanly won rounds & rounds decided by a flurry or potentially even a punch or two both being scored 10-9 which anyone being reasonable & rational should be able to see a problem with.

So I think until there is less subjectivity taken out of the scoring criteria & there is a 10-8 clear round, 10-9 close round scoring method or something similar to that you will continue to have scorecards that don't make sense to what most witnessed & sometimes that will even lead to some wrong guys winning fights.

From that point I think you can weed out bad judges or punish/re-train judges to fit their desired role in the sport better than they currently are able to do with the tools they are given.

Maybe he should try tackling the issue of having 3 champions in one single division. Save me the BS on fixing the judging system when you refuse to fix your own belt system.

It's been about 2 years since they promised one champion per division but every week I read an article crowning a new Interim and regular champion.

Agree 10/10 should be a gimme if no one CLEARLY won the round. I also hate seeing fighters losing rounds when they win 2:30 of the round and got caught by 1-2 punched in the end but clearly are not hurt or stunned.

The problem is every judge has his/her own way of scoring a fight! Can you tell me how a fighter can win the round by landing 4 clean hard shots to the head compared to the other fighter who landed 5 jabs, 2 body shot, 1 head shot? The guy who landed the most clean punches should win the round! A lot of judges are only looking for clean hard shots to the head which is ridiculous! Example, The Thurman/Garcia fight was a clear win for Thurman but can you tell me how one judge has Garcia winning 7 rds? We know most if not all promoters are crooked so most if not all judges fall under the crooked banner as well. If you want to try to make things better, start suspending these judges with these outrages score cards. It doesn't take 5 minutes to add tens & nines on a score card!

Yeah I've seen that a lot. The judges half the tI'm never even stay up past 9pm and yet are up well past 12 judging fights...
