While I think you can make a stronger argument for Kovalev winning, its not so inconceivable to have given Ward one extra round. So I believe Kovalev won but it wasn't a robbery and I don't think nationalism had anything to do with the decision.

I think the size difference would be too noticeable. And if Usyk won a few more high profile fights it could be a good 'event'

But you'd have to take an Usyk stoppage with a pinch of salt, imo

Bellew makes more sense because Ward could probably outbox him and Bellew has campaigned at light heavy and is a fairly soft-bodied even at crusier.

Ward is way to sensible to sell himself short though. I doubt he'd want to give up natural weight to an opponent.

Lol. I agree. Usyk is trolling that weight doe. He should be campaigning at Heavy. If Glowacki was landing funny tags on Usyk man it's easy for Ward. Ward too fast for Usyk. Outside of boxing forums I don't hear anyone or casuals asking for a rematch. Boxing fans don't make fights. Popular demand does. Larry Merchant was asked if there should be a rematch and in typical sardonic fashion answered, "Why?"
