Comments Thread For: Golovkin's Coach Has NO Issue With Jacobs Missing IBF Weigh-In

Give credit where credit is due. Sanchez being professional and telling it like it is. Jacobs team trying to gain an advantage by missing the weigh in and hydrating to 180. And Golovkin for handily beating a bigger man. All good.Comment

The weigh in that matter happened unusually early (9am) the day before the fight and Jacobs made weight.
The only ones complaining are Triple G fan boys.Comment

98% of GGG fans didnt care one bit that Jacobs blew off the 2nd weigh in. It was only worth discussing to call out the hypocrisy of those who made such a fuss when Lemieux did it, but had no problem with Jacobs doing it. Hmmmm, I wonder why? What is so different about Lemieux and Jacobs? Hmmmm, nothing jumps out at me......lolComment

I'm sure GGG's team knew in advance about what Danny was going to do. Like giving him more money than he was entitled to, it was a concession they made in order to get the fight signed.
It also saved GGG a lot of hassle getting permission from the IBF to fight at MW without defending their title. That could have been a problem if Jacobs had announced beforehand that he didn't intend challenging for the IBF belt.
A case of, "You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours"
The 9 am weigh in, which gave Jacobs over 38 hours to rehydrate after making 160, was fortuitous (for Danny) and K2 not protesting about it shows how much confidence they had in GGG.
It turned out to be a damned close call though. I can't help wondering what Abel would be saying now if Danny had got the nod!
GGG would not have been stripped if Jacobs opted from the beginning to not fight for the IBF title. GGG would still have had to pay his fees, and do the 2nd day weigh in, and it would have counted as a voluntary defense.
Same thing when Baldomir didnt want to pay the IBF for the Judah fight. Judah still defended the IBF belt in that fight.Comment
