Anybody catch that Katie Taylor chick on Showtime this past weekend?

They showed a few minutes of her fight prior to the Crolla/Linares fight.

Lol that chick actually had some skills. Like she actually had some decent footwork and was launching combinations and going to the body well. Head movement, too.

Apparently she is really big in...Ireland, I think?

I was impressed with her skill level

Probably the best Female amateur in history.

        Olympic Games 1
        World Championships 5
        European Championships 6
        EU Championships 5
        European Games 1

^^ Amateur competition wins, pretty much won everything. looks like they're trying to make women's boxing more popular.

It's a shame that she'll never make it, because she's good to watch, which is the main acid test for women's sport in my book. Unfortunately she's not at all charismatic and she's also pretty much incomprehensible; I'm from England and find her hard to understand, so that'll completely nix her impact in the US. Hell, even the Irish people I've talked to have said she's got the ugliest ass voice. I'm not opposed to women's boxing unlike many on this forum, so it's really frustrating that one of the few women's fighters actually good to watch will be held back by non-boxing stuff.

As long as she keeps winning and putting on fan-friendly fights, I'm pretty the rest of it will sort itself out. She's definitely attractive and she's already beloved in Ireland.

Base her in Ireland (which seems to be the plan), feature her on Sky Sports, and lock in a matinee deal with Showtime (Showtime International is a regular piece of the boxing programming for Showtime/CBS). Not sure how big a star you've projected her out to possibly be.

Think "Far and Away", with the female lead as the fighter, chasing her dream
