The back-peddling master is actually spot on. GGG would not be able to touch Floyd...based on what we saw against Jacobs. But to say you would "work over" GGG is a bit of a stretch.

at least Floyd did not use the excuse.....
" Canelo is too big, but I can still beat GGG, honest..... "
like Golovkin did.....
" Jacobs is too big, but I can still beat Ward, honest..... "

Easy to say with the slippers on sat at home on the sofa.Retired former five division world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (49-0, 26 KOs) was not impressed by last Saturday's performance from IBF, IBO, WBC, WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs). Golovkin was taken the twelve round distance for the first time in his career, when he won a close unanimous decision over mandatory challenger Daniel Jacobs (32-2, 29 KOs) at New York's Madison Square Garden.

It's funny how we never heard this whilst he was still active.Comment

ummm..... it is easy to say that when you are a LEGEND who has accomplished far more than Golovkin could ever dream of accomplishing
and, we heard nothing but "this" when Mayweather was active..... caveat being, he actually followed through and made those big fightsComment

Nobody is arguing about Floyd being a legend. But anybody can use the word: IF.
Why didn't we hear Floyd say this before? He's using the fact that he's retired as some sort of protective wall. It's pathetic.Comment

fair call
but..... Hagler, Leonard, Hearns, and Duran..... ALL said they would have beaten Mayweather
and ALL of them are entitled to make that claim
benefits of being a legend I suppose
Froch made similar comments regarding Golovkin, and again..... he has earned that right
doesn't mean that any of them were right, including MayweatherComment

That's fair enough, but those other legends retired years ago, and they didn't hide.fair call

Floyd retired not even 2 years ago, plus we all know he's coming back for at least McGregor, and one more if that isn't officially recognised as number 50.
I've no real problem with Floyd thinking he'd have beaten him. But the difference is: He was quiet when he was active, and now he's talking about him in a derogatory way giving him a nickname and saying he'd be easy etc. It's a joke. If he was still active now, you know he wouldn't have said a word.Comment

That's a little unfair. We could say the same for Floyd. Holyfield said PAC won, is he a joke?
But JC beat BH. Is JC greater than BH? Some seem to thi nk just cos Floyd beat poac means he's greater?Comment
