His best win since that time came against someone GGG had destroyed 9 months prior. Adana was a busy fight everyone knew that. Mora would have been a stay busy fight as well. At the time Mora was still trying to rebuild himself after losing to the indomitable Brian Vera for the second time.

Seriously, you couldn't come up with a better opponent than Mora???
The point went right over your head,it was in response to the dumbass sh you have written at the bottom of every post. Ggg avoided a hbo tv fight to fight a bum off tv.Guess he didnt want money or to gain exposure then either.

there is good exposure, and bad exposure

they avoided Mora for a reason

Golovkin could not steam-roll Jacobs..... just like Mosley could not steam-roll Mora..... if they had fought Mora, win or lose, the blueprint would be there.....

..... they did not want to risk being unable to land on Mora, being unable to knock him out, or heaven forbid..... the worst

it is possible that Mora may have exposed Golovkin on his way to stinking out the joint..... and they were not willing to risk that happening

boxing is ALL about matchmaking, and Golovkin has been extremely well-managed

Canelo is legit. But how long is GGG supposed to wait on that. Most ATGs move up. For every Hagler, there's a Leonard, Hearns, Duran, Sweet Pea, Roy Jones, Floyd, and Manny. Who else you got, Monzon? Stop making excuses for this dude. You don't become great by beating bull**** paper titlist
First of all, Danny Jacobs should be considered a signature victory. The fact that it was a close fight does not change the fact that GGG won Jacobs is clearly the second best middleweight in the world and does not get that status simply because the division is weak. He is genuinely an excellent fighter.

Secondly, there are many paths a fighter can take along his career. Some fighters become great by moving up. Some don't. There is no one way to do this. You simply don't like the way GGG's team is doing things. That's your right. But don't act like your way of doing things is the only way to do things.

Thirdly, 20 years from now people won't give two *****s about people like you and your exaggerated complaints about paper titles. If GGG fights Billy Joe Saunders in June and wins they will point out than GGG unified the middleweight division, had amongst the most consecutive defenses of a title in boxing history and 22 knock outs in a row. Hopefully, we'll see a rematch with Jacobs. Hopefully, he'll get his fight with Canelo. Hopefully, we'll see him fight the Charlo brothers and Lara. Hopefully, he'll move up at some point to take a belt in another division. But so far so good as far as I am concerned. There are probably a million fighters and former fighters who'd cut off their left nut to have that kind of resume.

Carlos Monzon. I forgot about him. Please, feel free to keep coming up with examples to prove that your "to be great you have to move up" statement. Thanks a bunch. Less work for me.

First of all, Danny Jacobs isn't an excellent fighter. He's decent. But in a good division, he's probably he's no better than bottom 10.

As for GGG's belt quest, quick question. Without running to boxrec, who did Bernard Hopkins beat to win each of his middleweight belts? Shouldn't be too difficult. Only you'll know if you cheated

Danny Jacobs is excellent. Don't diminish him just because you're actively searching for ways to diminish GGG.

Off the top of my head I know he beat Trinidad to get one and Keith Holmes to get another. I know that because I am pretty sure it was part of the tournament Don King put together. Trinidad beat William Joppy in his half while Hopkins beat Holmes. I'd half to look up box rec for the other ones.

Wait he got one from De La Hoya. I am pretty sure De La Hoya got a belt from Felix Sturm in a fight many people thought Dela Hoya lost. I never saw that fight but I remember hearing about it as being controversial. As a young Puerto Rican my early knowledge of the sport was built around Trinidad and the circles he swam in.

Actually no. HBO didn't pick up that fight dummy. Get your facts straight.

And what I have at the bottom of my post is a response to all you ****ing haters who whine about GGG not giving Jacobs an immediate rematch when Jacobs didn't want to give Mora a rematch from their first fight even though Mora dropped him. Jacobs can't have things both ways. And you know what. Mora eventually got his rematch and got smacked around. Jacobs better be careful what he wishes for. History might repeat itself.

Oh, now you guys are just getting ridiculous. You guys are talking about Sergio Mora as if he was the second coming of Sugar Ray Robinson. Why would GGG have been troubled by a guy whose puzzle was solved by the Legendary Brian Vera twice.

Haterz. S*it is getting ridiculous now.
