Wait wait wait... when he knocked out Stevens a week ago everyone was clamoring for him to face Canelo, now that it is a possibility people are gonna talk s h i t??? Anyone... ANYONE... who thinks either side is willing and ready to throw their respective cash cows (I.E Canelo and GGG) in to the fire against one another has forgotten how this BUSINESS works. Golden Boy and The Commie Promotion will make the fight when all OTHER money making fights have been exhausted. GGG is fading, and Canelo has nothing but time on his side. The fight will get made, but sorry Golovkin fans, it will be when Canelo is in his prime and when GGG is closer to 40.

the winner of Rosado/Monroe was supposed to be Canelos next opponent.

they were banking on Rosado to win to stage another Mexico vs P.R "megafight".

Monroe won and they ignored him. even if Canelo beats him he's gonna look like crap doing it because he wont be able to cut the ring like GGG. styles make fights.

Canelo needs a guy to stand and exchange with him that's when he's deadly. Lemieux has power but he'll get battered by Canelo, too fast and better defensively.

and if by a miracle Chavez manages to make it competitive expect an immediate rematch.

everybody should just stop talking Canelo/GGG for this year. next year the saga continues.

If Fonfara destroyed Chavez Jr, I can't see how Canelo is not going to do the same. I think that a single well placed body shot by Alvarez would make Jr throw up all his cookies.

When Loeffler and Abel said the fight would probably happen in 2018, did anybody wonder if 20 defensive streaks had anything to do with this? You have to be certain to think you're going to beat Alvarez on the cards...

Oscar: "A June Golovkin fight would be a disrespect to everybody, how serious do they want to make this fight happen? He could get cut, he could get dropped, he could get beat. You can hurt a hand. It would be too close to September and would not give us the proper time to promote a fight of this magnitude. The June fight would derail everything. How can we take a risk on him getting cut or hurt? The June fight would derail everything."

So Oscar don't want Canelo to face Golovkin and he don't want Golovkin to fight for the unified title also...
Oscar, put Lemieux on the card of Golovkin/Canelo so if either Golovkin or Canelo can't fight, Lemieux will be the remplacement for either of the two

Oscar: "Golovkin a Big Star? Why Does He Sell 100-200K on PPV?"
then: "... would not give us the proper time to promote a fight of this magnitude."
So Oscar how a "no big star" can be involved into a "fight of his magnitude" ???

GBP continue to bend over backwards to find reasons not to make Canelo/Golovkin, so might indeed be time to move on.

It feels pretty cynical to me, find reasons to not make the fight until maybe 2018 when Golovkin is older and less dangerous, then go for the name on Canelo's resume when the time is right.

Meantime I wonder what the weight stipulations will be on Lemieux ? He's pretty big and seems to have his hands full making 160. Canelo can make 157/158 easily - whats the betting they catch-weight him down to 157 ?

I already said he's fighting Lemieux before GGG last year.....

GGG was never next as I've said in the past. He wanted, Chavez Jr., Pac, and Lemeiux then GGG. That way GB could maximize their return. The Pac fight won't happen now but GGG is in 2018 because he's always been last on the list and most risk not to mention GB keeps the lion share of those fights especially Lemieux fight because it's in house.
