Who are you aboutfckntime lol........love the role reversal kaffas :-)Li'l g string should have signed that contract when he had the chance. Why did he turn down 6x more than he ever made in his career so he could fight Billy Blo job for a meaningless trinket nobody gives a fukk about?
REAL boxing fans know what's going on here. Li'l g ducking Canelo just like he ducked Lara and Ward. SMH.Comment

here we go again.
oscar already making excuses to push this fight until 2018.
GGG wants sauders in june, who has zero chance of beating him, very unlikely GGG gets any injuries as well fighting a stiff like that.
That is plenty of time for GGG to still fight canelo in september.
some guys actually want to fight more than once or twice a year.
Oscar is just looking for an excuse to push this fight out further. He doesnt want his only money maker to lose.Comment

This is such a recent phenomenon - A side dictating everything. How many fights did Sugar Ray Leonard not take betweem 147-160 because he was the A side, fighting Benitez, Duran 3x, Hearns 2x and Hagler. Even de la Hoya himself - he was the "A side" but still was somehow able to make fights with Chavez Jr. 2x, Quartey, Whitaker, Trinidad, Mosely 2x, Bhop, Mayweather and Pacquiao - that's a resume!
why should the fight be at 155??? Canelo is fighting at 164 in his next fight, but 160 is too heavy? cmon, really???
Clearly, Golden Boy is just looking for yet another excuse; if you don't see that, you're blind
**edit**
and it should also be clear, Canelo is no Sugar Ray, or even de la Hoya
Honestly these days the B is a lot more demanding than they used to be. DLH generally got everything he wanted. He got everything vs mayweather and he got Bhop to come down to a catchweight (very similiar to canelo-GGG here, the A side smaller guy demanding a catchweight with the middleweight lineal champ). Bhops gave in, why cant GGG? GGG says no catchweight and $15 million isnt enough. $15 million is mike tyson and DLH money back in the day, what did bhop get, maybe 1-2 million vs DLH?
If a fight like vargas-DLH was today, vargas would be on twitter demanding $20 million and a catchweight at 156 or some chit.
Dont get me wrong, I say all this knowing that DLH is actively trying to delay canelo-ggg, even if GGG accepted, DLH would find a way to throw the deal out, Arum style. Im just saying that $15 million and a catchweight is a waaay better deal than the B sides used to get back in the day and GGG should accept and force DLH to show he isnt serious about it.Last edited by elfag; 03-24-2017, 03:52 PM.Comment

What did GGG do to earn a Canelo fight? A whole hell of a lot more than Khan, Liam Smith or JCC Jr. He did more to earn this fight than all three of those combined.
First of all, there is a difference between not acknowledging who is B-side and betting on yourself. GGG's team thinks that there is enough buzz around this potential fight for it to be a huge success. Why not bet on yourself? Why not ask for a piece of what could be considerable upside?
I don't believe Khan ever fight a PPV in America before. Liam Smith certainly didn't. Neither one were proven PPV draws. Secondly, $15 million (what they quoted) sounds too good to be true. But even if it is true. How big of a fight do they think its going to be. As the A-side Canelo is going to get a bigger guarantee than GGG. How big of a fight do they expect to have if they could afford those kind of guarantees before the PPV numbers come in? And if that's the case, why wouldn't GGG's side want a piece of that.
Bare in mind that we don't know really what is going on in the negotiations. Golden Boy would have you think GGG wanted his $15 million plus a huge cut of the PPVs. For all we know they were willing to take less guarantee for lets say a 30% cut of the fighters portion of the PPV. Who really knows? All we really know is that the source of all the specifics of the negotiations are coming from a guy who has a vested interest in protecting Canelo.
A couple reasons. First of all, yes GGG said he could make 154 but he has always been upfront about doing it only for Floyd Mayweather Jr. Secondly, GGG already bluffed Canelo. Canelo and Golden Boy were trying to play hardball with the middleweight belt. He called their bluff and wound up getting a championship belt for free. Thirdly, just because he could it doesn't mean he should.
No. Absolutely not. GGG and the boxing public have been d*cked around long enough. I want to see this fight in the worst way but I am tired of all the excuses and needless delays. If they want to use the June fight as an excuse not to fight GGG in September then so be it. GGG may not get his big fight against a PPV star but he'll have plenty of exciting fight options between Jacobs all the PBC guys who will be eventually making their way up from 154 and all the guys he could potentially fight if he moves up to 168. Golden Boy doesn't really do business with PBC. They are the ones without a lot of options. GGG vs. Canelo may be the fight we want but GGG vs. Jacobs and those other guys are good consolation prizes. They're supposedly in negotiations with GBP right now. If Oscar says fighting in June kills the Sept fight with Canelo. Say fine. And if the Canelo thing falls through, Saunders will still be there. So will a Jacobs rematch. Fighting Saunders in June isn't more important than fighting Canelo in Sept. So treat it as the priority.Last edited by yankees7448; 03-24-2017, 03:54 PM.Comment

I do. Its a good fight. I would much rather see GGG fight Saunders than Canelo beat someone GGG already stopped (Lemieux). Because we all know that Lemieux is getting the fight if Canelo can't come to an agreement with Cotto.Comment

Canelo lost all credibility when he gave away his throne... that's waaay worse then the ducking BJS and the belt hostage situation BJS has been doing.
Face it Canelo is not even a champ at mwComment
