Why GGG needs to wait for Canelo anyway?
he already had bad experience believing GBP and Canelo
plus they do not treat him with respect and honesty (I understand its cruel and tough business but still)
Few years ago when there were CMartinez then Cotto then Canelo (plus couple of guys back in germany) and GGG was waiting for them to agree to give him a fight and lost years of his life. There were not many other elite/good boxers on horizon GGG didnt fought in MW.
but since last year we have quite a few very good boxers emerging to this level or already there that waiting for the divas is not required anymore.
BJS, Charlo, re-match, even Eubank jr - give us at least 1 year of very competitive good fights.
So Canelo fight will give alot of money but I guess GGG can say he is pretty well done this far and waste precious time waiting for him doesnt worth it as I see it. Nobody will remember how much money he made but his belts and his history will be remembered. Fight with Canelo is great but build career around him is too much ))))

A title unification fight is not a small fight. Its a more meaningful fight than a catchweight fight. The only time GGG missed a scheduled fight was when he had to pull out of the Andy Lee fight because his father died. Or as his haters like to say "ducking Andy Lee".

So I see, GGG delayed the Jacobs fight because he was nickle and diming Jacobs while also delaying the Canelo fight because he didn't accept their chump change offer. Sounds fair.

Or maybe...just maybe they don't trust a fighter who challenges GGG to step into the ring and screams that Mexicans don't **** around only to give up the belt without having to fight GGG. Maybe they just don't trust a promoter who claims their fighter won't fight GGG because he isn't a full blown middleweight and only to then match him up with Chavez in a 164 pound catchweight fight. A fight De La Hoya openly stated might get an immediate rematch depending upon how good it is and how much money they made.

Yea, if I were GGG's team I'd take the June fight. Golden Boy has their excuse prepared. If they pull out of a September fight because GGG fights in June then they are showing that they never really had any interest in the fight.

He'd owe the winner of Langford/Khurtsidze a mandatory fight and the winner of NDam vs. Murota.
If im not mistaken GGG will have an IBF mando become due in April. A Saunders fight though is a unification and takes priority over the mando.....

Good point there. Canelo is the money fight for GGG, but Saunders is the legacy fight. If GGG wins that 4th MW title from BJS he will write his name in boxing history and fans will still be talking about it long after they have forgotten that "He could have got $15 million for fighting Canelo doe"

He'd do better in terms of PPV buys.
Every top fighter fights only 2x a year because they are coddled little punks. We should applaud fighters who fight more often.

Regardless of what Oscar says about GGG, you are going to say Oscar is right.

Just drop the pretence of being a real, objective boxing fan, because nobody is falling for it.

I wish I could find a more credible article than one from this site (their stuff is often so poorly written that its impossible to take it seriously) but it is what it is. As I said, Tureano Johnson was the mandatory but he lost that opportunity when he tore a ligament in his leg or something. Since he had suffered an injury that would keep him out for a long time the IBF made Dominic Wade the mandatory since he was the next highest ranked contender. Now that Johnson is healthy again he regained his #1 ranking but I think GGG still has time before he has to fight their mandatory. He definately needs to fight the Ndam/Murota and Khurstzide/Langford winners sooner rather than later assuming he beats BJS.

Especially with all 4 MW titles on the line. Oscar is so full of crap lately it's getting to be unreal.

The IBF technically requires a mando every 9 months. The mando due date listed on their site is January 22, 2017. http://www.ibf-usba-boxing.com/ (drop down to middleweight)

There is however an agreement between the sanctioning bodies regarding who goes first when there are multiple mandos due at the same time, which was why there was no issue with him fighting Jacobs, as it was the WBAs turn. Saunders in June would be a unification, so obviously that trumps the mando. After that I suspect GGG would have to either make some kind of step aside deal with Johnson (IBF rules are somewhat vague on this) or vacate the IBF title if he aims to fight Canelo in Sept.
