I would say Lara #5, Canelo #4, Mikey Garcia #3, Andre Ward #2, and GGG #1. I hate to disrespect Loma, Rigo, and Crawford, because I think those 3 are true "Sweet Scientists" but I can't fit them in over those 5! It's too damn early for this!

Remember people dont get it twisted : P4P at its core is if fighter A. got in with fighter B. who would win? but now people are throwing all these different criteria into the conversation. A guy like Loma gets broken down by guys like 'Chocolatio' or GGG based on his loss to Salido. A guy like Ward would have a nightmare in styles alone with Gonzalez because unlike Kovalev Choco is going to tear you up inside.

If you look at it in black and white terms, Andre Ward should sit atop the rankings.....

the honor should belong to Ward considering that he is the only fighter among the aforementioned names who defeated a fellow pound for pound fighter.....

Golovkin’s resume still has some question marks that will prevent him from capturing the top spot.....

Golovkin will have to rack up a few more victories against quality opposition.....

you have to give it to Andre Ward by the narrowest of margins.....

Ward’s superior boxing IQ will lead to him having an easier time if and when they decide to dance again.....

Ward has managed to fare well after moving up in weight. Despite the closely contested decision, nobody is suggesting that Ward move back down to super middleweight. He appears able to handle himself just fine as a light heavyweight.....

        oh lordie LMAO

sooooo many things to get salty about in that article

won't this thread be a good ol cry-a-thon

we had this same conversation earlier

I didn't rank Ward #1 then, but after reading this article the writer did have a point.

regardless as to what I really think, for all intents and purposes it might be fun to refer to Ward as #1 for a while

          dis gun be gud

not yet, but he is getting there

              now, apparently he is #1

i still got rigo, because I have a great memory and have seen nothing to make me forget as yet

My top 5 would consist of Lomachenko, Kovalev, Ward, Canelo and Rigondeaux.

I do have a hard time including Rigo now due to inactivity, I genuinely have no idea if he's still fighting. That spot can be switched for a number of guys (the usual few are obvious).

I couldn't have Canelo over chocolatito as this point

but no complaints about the rest

absolutely, but you have to add "if all things are equal"

                  all things being weight

you probably took that as a given

                  based on that, i got.....

                  1) Rigondeaux
                  2) Ward
                  3) Lomachenko
                  4) Gonzales
                  5) Kovalev
                  6) Crawford
                  7) Alvarez
                  8) Pacquiao
                  9) Golovkin
                  10) Garcia

Lomachenko was headbutted multiple times in each round and hit with 30+ low blows against Salido, that fight was very much an anomaly. It was also his 2nd ever pro fight. Can't base other fights on a fight that featured the most cheating I can ever recall without the ref doing anything.

There is a reason Salido dodged that rematch.

ward is the only sensible choice

He's been in the p4p top ten conversation since he beat Kessler(2009) and Froch(2010)

by 2012-2013 he was as high as two or three

before that inactivity he has right behind mayweather...people act like this stuff never happened.

two guys that have ranked in the top ten as well he beat clearly

After those fights, he went undefeated and his latest win was over a top 5 world p4p guy who no one wanted to fight and was truely a dominant champion

ward deserves it.....kid hasnt lost since he was 12-13....he is the best pro in the world until he loses or retires
