In fairness he had every right to bail since it was a bad headbutt but also 80-90 (no exaggeration) low blows is also really bad and lets be real, more painful but there was no option to quit. I feel a lot of people scored the low blows as body punches.

Mikey is a fine fighter, but he's very 1-2 with his offense and perhaps that's why Salido was able to close the distance and make a fight out of it after being hurt and dropped multiple times. I also have doubts about his footwork. I think he will struggle ahd have a hard time cutting down the ring against elite foes who give him movement and angles and are not stationary targets.

I just watched the fight where he was butted in the nose. Thank you for the link. I did not see Garcia ask to quit at all. He just let the doctors determine the DQ. I also just watched the end of Solido vs Lomenchenko. I was very impressed with the way Lomenchanko handled the interview and made zero excuses with his loss. I just became a fan

It was a bad headbutt, but that's what everyone deals with against Salido. He headbutts, low blows and generally cheats in every way possible. The only guy I recall paying him back properly for it was Gamboa.

I don't think Garcia opts out of that fight if he was still in charge. Salido was walking through his shots and landing his own in the previous two rounds and Garcia took the out and the handed victory.

There's a video of Salido's low blows from the Lomachenko fight, it lasts over 8 minutes

Bob, you old fart, make this fight happen and I'll forgive you all the marinating. Two p4p caliber fighters with fan-friendly style, both in their primes.
Btw, I don't see why Mikey is all wrong for Loma, you can't surprise Loma with something from the boxing book, you need to go out of bounds. Salido used low blow (not judging him here, ref allows it – you do it, it's boxing) and came overweight. Mikey needs to really rough Loma up, maybe some headbutts, holding and wrestling, use size and weight advantage, wear him down, break his rythm.
Imo it's impossible to outbox Lomachenko for any active fighter, Rigo could've had a chance, but size matters there.

Its close to a 50-50 fight. Neither guy has fought anyone like the other

Salido's cheating goes way back. Don't forget he juiced and got busted against Robert Guerrero way back. I'm no JuanMa fan, but I'm fairly certain Salido was juiced in those fights too. Probably more. He's the dirtiest/shadiest fighter in my 20+ years of watching Boxing. Makes Casamayor look like Arguello.
