Promoter spin for ppv that flopped. Multiple reports from different media outlets all saying numbers are disappointing so Tom is trying to circle the wagons. The fact that it's debatable whether it even match the lemieux fight is a disaster. Remember 2 years ago when Tom said lemieux fight needed to draw 200k buys but that he was expecting far more? Well it didnt and this time around they paid significantly more for the ppv and billed as GGG biggest fight but matching the buys of a ppv that already bombed is a success? Sure SMH

Exceeding 153K is a very low bar!

Lowering the bar to pretend that jumping over it was a success. Also misleading with the live gate. Lemieux did 2m with cheaper tickets all I heard for why Jacobs didn't sell out was they tripled the ticket prices. So if the prices were 3x lemieux why only 3.7m in live gate? Seems they must of gave a LOT of tickets away for free because the live gate should of been over 4m close to 5m. But putting out a press release saying it ALMOST did double but leaving that info out LMAO

so ggg went from 150 to 153k, he has 3000 more fans since the lemule fight, wow...

please try to read again. the last PPV he made 153K, now the promoter is saying they sold more than that.

canelo should offer GGG less this time after the chavez fight.

GGG cant draw for **** even with 23 straight KO's HAHAHAHAHA ****** GGG fans.

GGG with no drawing power should take about a 5 million dollar purse and a tiny percentage with canelo. which would net him around 9-10 mill or take a flat fee of 8 million.

If you take these numbers at face value Canelo worst name opponent in 5 years, unknown smith, drew basically what GGG 2 biggest fights of his career drew in live gate and ppvs. Canelo/khan did 4X this. And canelo/Chavez might end up doing 6-7X this. LMAO

Personally, I don't think GGG is a ppv star, but then they didn't want to put this fight on PPV. The only reason this was on ppv is because HBO has super tight purse-strings right now, and Jacobs wanted 2 million.

That being said, Golovkin alone is as big a draw as Kovalev and Ward together. (Prior to this fight, Jacobs had very few fans of his own, he and Quillen together couldn't fill a stadium in their home town). That's pretty good.
