    GGG vs Palvik and Martinez

Now that things are calmed down and people are a bit people are a bit more reasonable about fighters, how do you think GGG would have done against two of the past recent lineal Middleweight champions?

IDK about Pavlik to be honest, never really watched him BUT from what I seen these last 2 fights, GGG has trouble with handspeed so Id probably favor Martinez but not by much.

destroys pavlik. martinez would cause him problems but ggg would beat him. i was a real fan of martinez but i cant help feel he is a bit overrated on this forum when you look at his record.

Golovkin would beat both. Pavlick wouldn't be able to impose his power as effectively as he often did because Golovkin is to defensively sound and he has his own power to counter Pavlick's. The reason Martinez beat Pavlick was because he used angles and good boxing technique. That wouldn't work with Golovkin. The GGG jab would would make both those opponents much less effective than they usually were.

He would break Martinez down and knock him out but would probably decision Pavlick ..., don't think he would KO Kelly, but possibly.

so the reason maravilla beat pavlik was using angles and good boxing technique ,but that wouldnt work on ggg because of ggg's jab..didnt ggg almost lose to jacobs or lost to jacobs because he was using angles and boxing ..LOL

Both men in their primes beat him.

Pavlik was a monstrous MW, people make a big deal about DJ being big, Pavlik had 2 inches in height and 2 inches in reach on him.

At 6'2 with a 75" reach Pavlik would dominate from the outside, lil g wouldn't be able to effectively land his jab. Pavlik would hold the center of the ring, maul ggg on the inside, he stops him. Prime Pavlik was relentless, he would've been too much for lil g.

I'd pick another 160 from Pavlik's time to beat him, prime Kassim Ouma who gave him all he could handle.

Martinez, we saw what DJ was able to do with his jab and angles. He picks him apart, busts his face up bad, golovkin is forced to reset each time he's hit. It'd be like Chavez Jr. all over again.

I'm not QUITE as sure about Martinez due to his sometimes shaky chin, but I see the Pavlik fight the same way. Dude's size, reach and power would really stifle GGG, and GGG would struggle to get in range. Dude grinds a decision over GGG most likely.

beats pavlick. Martinez would frustrate him with movement early on but ggg eventually catches him and stops him. Martinez was coming up from 54, not a true MW.

not even gonna analyze Martinez vs GGG because Martinez blatantly ducked him. nothing to talk about.

Pavlik vs GGG would be a war. one thing Pavlik was great at was 1-2's. he also applied pressure and threw hard combos. but GGG wont go anywhere. I say GGG wins a close decision.
