Are you really so ****** that you don't know fights get made because of money? The whole sport is based around money, it's called prize fighting for a reason.

Fans do have a sick obsession with numbers.

But fans have a bigger obsession with........OTHER FANS.

There are barely any threads about boxing. Nobody talks about straights, hooks and uppercuts. Every thread is dedicated to.....OTHER FANS.

Nice try, but I'm not a GGG fan. PPV numbers were used as leverage and ways of dodging opponents during the Mayweather era. Still being used today. Canelo has adopted this method and will use it to avoid any tough fight between 154-160.

I don't care how much a fighter gets paid but, attendance and PPV figures are important. Good figures mean our sport is doing well and that is all I care about.

I find the boxing business very interesting and unique, so I so post about it from time to time, but it is crazy for fans to be obsessed about it.

It only seems to matter when ggg fights, his Lemule ppv did around 150k officially but they ran with 97 cause that's what oscar said. Ward does around the same number no one says anything, the ggg hate is something else I don't even remember Floyd having such a devoted hate base.

Mostly because rather than boxing fans, there are a lot of boxers' fan boys.

They get all hype when their fav boxer does good $$$, as if they were on the team. Maybe they fantasize about being on the team.

And they get all happy when their hated boxer doesn't do well (like probably GGG this past weekend)

It ties into why people don't appreciate someone like Chocoloatito. Since he doesn't headline premium shows, and doesn't make big $$, then he must not be very good right?

Im a boxing fan. I do have "favorite boxers." But generally, I want ALL BOXERS to do well, to make good money, to be popular. I want BOXING in general to do well. I don't get all giggly if "my fav boxer" has a successful PPV, or is another dude does poorly

With SOME EXCEPTIONS. For example, I do want Canelo-Jr to do poorly. Why? Because I want real, competitive fights, like GGG v. Canelo. If Canelo makes good $$$ in stunts like the Jr. fight, his team my choose not to do the GGG fight.

So its not personal for me, I just don't want boxers rewarded for stunt fights, because it means we'll see more stunt fights.

Standard response from stax right here. Doesn't talk about the May-berto ppv numbers doe.

Most here aren't real fans. Most are casuals or trolls.
