I'm right here, I never went anywhere. I'm a man, I admit I was wrong. Once I really thought about it, Brook is kind of backed into a corner though really. He wanted a big money fight with Khan or Pac and he didn't get either. Who's he going to fight at 154? I would favor Lara, Charlo, and Andrade all over him. None of them are big names or paydays either. Big fights are at welterweight, so he really has to stay and he isn't Quillin and willing to admit he doesn't think he can win and vacate. If he's not moving up, and he can't get any big payday, what choice does he have?

It was never about Brook anyway. It was more, that Spence is something special and fighters like him usually do have a hard time getting the top guys in the ring with him. Haymon is extremely confident in Spence, he brought him up through the IBF to face Brook and had no problem with agreeing to go to England. Haymon doesn't want to put any of his top guys in with Spence, and Thurman is scared to death anyway. Still, I give kudos to Brook. He might be second best welterweight behind Spence, its hard to tell though, considering the lack of top WWs facing each other.

Thurman-Garcia and Spence-Brook, I am ecstatic. If Khan-Pac was real, it would have been too good. Still, after years of subpar match-ups in the talent heavy WW division we get two great fights in the first half of 2017!

I swear it feels like every week we get another message about this fight being announced.

This is the annoucement for the real annoucement. The press has been called for tomorrow, Brook and spence are going to be there. The fight would be formally annouced for that date.

Really looking forward to the fight, big chance for spence to make a name for himself here. Big chance for Brook to shut a lot of people up.

I hope we don't get another one of those decisions that leave everyone guessing or demanding a rematch.
