Five weeks after they came to an agreement, the Kell Brook-Errol Spence Jr. fight finally will announced during a press conference Wednesday in Sheffield, England. England's Brook will make a mandatory defense of his IBF welterweight title against America's Spence on May 27 at Bramall Lane, a soccer stadium in Sheffield, Brook's hometown. The highly anticipated clash initially was to take place May 20, but Bramall Lane, the preferred site for the fight, wasn't available on that date.

Exactly! ****ing idiots don't understand that Boxing is a business and you just can't jump on the first offer that's thrown your way. It takes time to negotiate high profile fights.
But I'm glad they finally came to terms. I'm taking Brook but Spence is a beast so this won't be an easy fight for neither fighter. Let the best man win!

I'm soooOOOOOOOOO pumped for this fight!! We will really get to see how good Spence is and get a better idea of the pecking order at 147. I personally believe whoever wins this fight is the best in the division. Big ups to Spence for taking 25% and willing to go over to the UK. Those are the types of concessions that are required to get the opportunities you are looking for. This is the most exciting fight for me at WW for 2017 so far. I damn near want to fly over there to see it...

They are probably in the same place where the people who said Bud was ducking Postol, Ward was ducking Kov, Jacobs was ducking GGG, Walters was ducking Loma, AJ and Wlad were ducking each other, etc. Unfortunately, people are always saying that boxers are ducking. This isn't anything new. Damn near goes with the sport the way people act. LOL.

I'm right here, I never went anywhere. I'm a man, I admit I was wrong. Once I really thought about it, Brook is kind of backed into a corner though really. He wanted a big money fight with Khan or Pac and he didn't get either. Who's he going to fight at 154? I would favor Lara, Charlo, and Andrade all over him. None of them are big names or paydays either. Big fights are at welterweight, so he really has to stay and he isn't Quillin and willing to admit he doesn't think he can win and vacate. If he's not moving up, and he can't get any big payday, what choice does he have?

It was never about Brook anyway. It was more, that Spence is something special and fighters like him usually do have a hard time getting the top guys in the ring with him. Haymon is extremely confident in Spence, he brought him up through the IBF to face Brook and had no problem with agreeing to go to England. Haymon doesn't want to put any of his top guys in with Spence, and Thurman is scared to death anyway. Still, I give kudos to Brook. He might be second best welterweight behind Spence, its hard to tell though, considering the lack of top WWs facing each other.

Thurman-Garcia and Spence-Brook, I am ecstatic. If Khan-Pac was real, it would have been too good. Still, after years of subpar match-ups in the talent heavy WW division we get two great fights in the first half of 2017!
