Where in the IBF handbook does it say that if the challenger forfeits his position then the Champion overrules the rules? Lol. I know it sucks when we focus on the IBF. That's why there was a WBA and WBC!

But im assuming also part of the plan was to control Golovkin's weight and to make sure he didn't rehydrate like he wanted to.

Wouldn't call it cheating (like some posters I know) but a cheap tactic that in the end didn't work.
Agree. They mentioned a few times that they will be the bigger fighter, and it sounds like it was one of the main strategies.

The fight didn't have ibf involvement at all if Danny wasn't fighting for it. The belt would stay with GGG and he wouldn't have to do the weigh in.

LOL.. yeah buddy.. if you were 175 you would have stepped on the HBO scale.. boy was 182-186 and still afraid to engage and got dropped and his face turned into pumpkin pie.
Jacobs plan all along was to be a weight bully and he survived the 3rd round beating because of it.

Next time GGG team have to make sure there will be no Friday morning weigh-in funny business. Second weigh-in is less important.
