This team has made it very clear they want the BELTS!!

Saunders then Jacobs finish with Canelo for ALL the belts!
Canelo will already have two bouts at 160+.

3 more bouts for GGG then retire undefeated if he can.

I agree about going for the money right away.

But, in a perfect world Lil g would try to immediately erase this stain on his record.

And, as I said upthread, there is a way to do that and STILL do the big fight this year.

If he rematches Jacobs and is dominant, the big fight is an easier sell. As it stands right now, I think you have a harder time selling the megafight as some huge showdown.

Canelo may not have Jacobs height and reach, but he is a much, much, much better technician than Danny.

The plan is for him to fight again in June (which will probably be a soft touch, top 15/20 type of guy) then again later in the year. If he doesn't get that Canelo fight in September, I'd love to see a rematch this year.

          Makes sense.

Other than Canelo, what fight generates more hype than the rematch?

No arguments from me here. I've been saying Canelo beats GGG for damn near two years now I think & before it was cool.

Its a competitive fight don't get me wrong, but I see more paths to victory for Canelo. Hopefully it happens. Its still the fight I most wanna see in boxing right now.

I think BJS in the UK could be heavily hyped despite many not seeing it as competitive. Hell probably Eubank too despite him perhaps being less deserving of the fight. And I think Charlo vs GGG could be more hyped since its two undefeated fighters.

GGG is not an ATG he is limited with power the ATG MWs in history would beat him easy.

He should rematch DJ just because the decision could have gone either way DJ deserves the rematch.

Pac gave the same guy 3 more shots, albeit grudgingly.
Froch did it twice with Groves.

                    Lots of other examples.

Lil g needs to fight Jacobs again.

                    And sooner rather than later.
Do you consider Hagler an ATG?

Did he give a rematch to Hearns? Duran? Those were close fights.

Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't.

You have Floyd and Pacquiao giving rematches to HOF'ers Castillo and Marquez and in the same post... Froch??? giving... Groves??? a rematch.
