    ATGs Usually Give Rematches...

...if there is any doubt in who won the first time.

    Floyd did it twice.
Pac gave the same guy 3 more shots, albeit grudgingly.
Froch did it twice with Groves.

    Lots of other examples.

Lil g needs to fight Jacobs again.

    And sooner rather than later.

      this fight wasn't close.

      GGG did more damage

      GGG landed more

GGG landed at a higher % (Effective aggression)

GGG had the centre of the ring and moved forward (Ring generalship)

      GGG had the KD

      GGG won.

There is no metric that indicates Jacobs won. Jacobs looked sensational shoeshining GGG's elbows and style points for screaming at GGG. but that's about it.

Disagree completely. Go after the last belt then consider the options. If Jacobs holds at 160 than give him the chance.
After that if successful go after the bigger pay with Canelo.
Then retire because no matter what Abel says this guy is slowly aging and there's no need to box after your prime in his situation.

I think a rematch is bigger than any other fight not named Canelo.

Especially given Saunders horrible showing last time out.

And, as I said in an earlier thread, Lil g's performance last night might depress sales for a September showdown (of course it might also increase them if some feel he is vulnerable... or if Canelo also looks shaky).

IMO, the best thing Lil g can do is push the showdown back to December and rematch Jacobs in June or July. Beat Danny decisively and he is the boogeyman again.

But, no way is it still a superfight now unless by some miracle the PPV numbers look great.

He has other mandatories though, they aint gunna let him fight Jacobs again and he aint dropping a belt. Its either Saunders or a mandatory for June

The B side guy who lost a controversial fight doesn't usually get an immediate rematch, but yea I could see GGG fighting Jacobs again sometime late this year or next year. I couldn't fault GGG for going for new blood or ideally for him Canelo if Oscar finally lets that fight happen over a Jacobs rematch.
