Terrific little action fighter, no question. But a lot of the aura around Roman was that sparkling 46-0 record and the fact that he was considered by some to be the sport's pound for pound mythical #1. Well all that's gone now.
Last 2 fights -- dragged into deep waters against Cuadras, and now, an unthinkable loss. I mean yes give the Thai dude all the credit in the world. He deserves it. But Roman was a MASSIVE favorite over him.
It already seemed like the ceiling for him was fighting on HBO Golovkin undercards...does this remain the same? I really don't see him headlining his own card -- especially now that the shine is off, but even before this L guys (like him) at the much lower weights don't really garner much of a demand as is.
So now that the aura and mystique is all but gone, where does Roman Gonzalez go from here? How much has this loss damaged his current status?
