GGG is just better, danny was confusing but confusion doesnt score points, or bring you back from a knockdown, Clean effective punches do, plus the Knock down. I say move on, dont fight Jacobs until after you get canelo or Saunders, he had his chance
I agree with all of this, except not giving Danny a rematch next. I think that should definitely happen next, except this time, Danny doesn't get pity rounds and graded on a curve.

I was there at the fight also, and close enough to see who was in control for that fight. Golovkin, whilst flat and too reserved, was not really troubled by Danny offensively. Jacobs just seemed to be commendably hanging in there - I am honestly amazed by the reaction on this site.

To say GGG was exposed is an understatement, he was beaten by the younger fresher better fighter, his entire resume is up for debate now, because Jacobs is not an A class fighter.

Canelo is, and GGG's level of competition disqualifies him as a potential PFP King.

In the court of public opinion, tonight was a loss, the hype train was derailed. GGG won the fight on the cards, but Jacobs won the drama of the fight as old man merchant use to say.
        lol relax.....

I give Jacobs alot of credit for taking GGG the distance but I still had it 114-113 for GGG

He knocked you down and was the champ. A knockdown means you have to win 3 outta 4 rounds to be ahead. Being champ means you close rounds go to him. Also you didn't do the next day weigh in even tho you signed the contract with the IBF being on the line and GGG did the weigh in.

That said, you did amazing and will be champ against soon. I think he could be champ at 168 too

GGG's jab didn't win anything. Jacobs was working the jab up and down. Looks like your a roosky fanboy with the Kovalev pic. GGG can't handle slick black fighters that's why he's been feasting on Euro bum flat footed Macklin types.

GGG wasn't comfortable at all, he was actually taken out of his comfort zone and Jacobs dictated the pace which is something GGG usually does. Come on man, get real!

it wasnt legit why? because jacobs tried to grab ggg and pull him down with him?

gggs jab kept snappin jacobs head back over and over. jacobs grazed ggg with the occasional body jab but it had nothing on it because he was too scared of return fire. these are things good scorers will notice. bad scorers will pretend everything is equal.

                Golovkin looked old, slow, ineffective.

This was one very, very disappointing display FOM BOTH FIGHTERS IMO.

                Reasons:

GOLOVKIN: He totally forgot the body. Those hard hooks to the liver and the mid-section that he used to use very frequently and effectively in the past, would have slowed down all that endless lateral movement from Jacobs that, franlky, made GGG look old, slow and ineffective, not to mention the lack of stamina.

JACOBS: When you have the have height, weight and speed advantage, WHY IN THE WORLD would you spend the whole fight going in backward motion, moving laterally, letting the other guy who is older, slower and less accurate, dictate the action? YES, Jacobs made GGG look real bad, like nobody else has, and he held his own for 12 rounds. And he counter-punched GGG almost at will. But probably what those judges saw was THAT, the lack of will to go for the KO when you have all the advantages. He was clearly faster, much bigger, and more effective. But he was never the aggressor.

Yes, I do believe that unless there was a KO or a more aggressive attitude by Jacobs, the decision was pre-arranged, because the money-making fight is GGG-Canelo, not Jacobs-Canelo.

I am pretty sure that if the Chavez Jr.-Canelo fight has a similar outcome (a decision), Canelo will win for sure, so we can have a lackluster fight between old and slow GGG vs. probably prime but very limited Canelo.

If those two are the best P4P fighters today, OMG boxing has really stooped to a new low. Canelo was already exposed by both Mayweather Jr. and to a much lesser degree, by Lara --a coward who, had he attacked Canelo, could have hurt him and won the fiight clearly--. And GGG has NOW been exposed, big time.

I hope Lomachenko can redeem boxing, and other great fighters surge, because if GGG and Canelo are the future of boxing, then boxing is doomed!

Round by round Danny won 9-3 easily and I can debate that **** with anybody, 8-4 is giving GGG a bit too much credit because he's the champion and it was like he was fighting in his hometown or at best 7-5 for Jacobs, which means 114-113 for Jacobs but come on, 115-112 for GGG? 2 times? that's a plain robbery right there. They had to keep that Canelo fight alive by any means necessary

The crowd was absolutely disgusting as well, u got the hometown fighter fighting the fight everyone wanted him to fight against the guy nobody wanted to fight, a great exciting fighter,90% KO ratio, a great role model! cancer survivor, a great damn story, fighting the fight of his life and beating the champ ass and they root for the foreigner, no boes after this ridiculous decision, no support for the hometown fighter, absolutely disgraceful fans the American boxing fans are, happy I don't belong to that bunch really.

When you go to the body, you leave yourself open for a good punch. Golovkin knew that Jacobs is a big puncher that's why he was headhunting that much without taking more risk, but the effective body work could win him more rounds, for sure. On the other hand, Jacobs was able to neautralize Golovkin's jab that he usually use to set up his attacks, that's why Jacobs looked better in the second half of the fight

Why? It's not like Canelo has the footwork of Jacobs' or the size advantage which both were Danny's biggest advantages tonight. Two completely different styles.
