Jacobs Misses IBF's Second-Day Weigh-In for Golovkin FightNEW YORK Size might matter after all in the Gennady Golovkin-Daniel Jacobs fight.
Jacobs skipped the IBF's second-day weigh-in Saturday morning for their middleweight title fight Saturday night at Madison Square Garden. In accordance with IBF rules, neither fighter could weigh more than 10 pounds over the 160-pound limit at its second-day weigh-in at 9 a.m. ET Friday.
Golovkin weighed 169.6 pounds on Saturday morning. By failing to appear at the IBF's second-day weigh-in, Jacobs forfeited his right to fight for Golovkin's IBF title in this HBO Pay-Per-View main event (9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT; $64.95 in HD).
Their scheduled 12-round fight will proceed, though only Golovkin's WBA and WBC titles will be on the line.

Probably figured he didn't want the extra stress of a second weigh in, just wanted to feel strong and comfortable and big in the ring.
canelo and maidana both outweighed mayweather by around 20 pounds on fight night... I dont remember any articles about that from any websites.....

He re hydrated to 175 easily the 14 hours after the initial weigh in he's not going to lose 5lbs for that belt!
I thought he'd hit the ring at 175-76 but I think he'll be at
              178-79lbs now.
GGG at 169 will come in at 172 and I think that's his average re hydration. He IS a natural middleweight.
Good luck to both men safe keeping and empty the tanks.

                This was Algeri's response.

They're trolling. They probably had no intention of honoring the IBF rule b/c of the early Friday weigh-in. Instead of a typical 30 hour rehydration period (5pm Fri to 11pm Sat), they got a 38 hour period (9am Friday to 11pm Sat).

                We're going to have a 170lbs fighter vs a ~185lbs figher.

Does the ibf have a super, silver or interim championship? No

do they always enforce their mandatories? Yes

do you know **** about boxing? Evidently not..

Lemieux weighed in on Friday at ~5pm. Jacobs weighed in on Friday at 9am. That's an extra 8 hours Jacobs has to rehydrate.
Lemieux atleast had the honor of stepping on the HBO scales before he got into the ring and weighed in a reasonable 177lbs. Lets see if Danny agrees to show his true weight before the fight.
I read the article. Not really as big of a deal. 2 of 3 titles still on the line. And did you notice I put a LOL at the end there? Extrapolating can be your friend chief.
