Kovalev won the fight, but to say that Ward is ducking is wrong. I have faith that we will see the rematch.Comment

The five million dollars came from his promoter. That had nothing to do with Main Events or the financials of the fight and wasn't negotiated with Main Events
Multiple sources have confirmed that Jay Z’s Roc Nation Sports has guaranteed Ward (30-0, 15 KOs), of Hayward, California, a career-high $5 million purse to face Russia’s Kovalev ( - See more at: http://www.boxingscene.com/kovalev-w....ab5spx7G.dpuf
The fight in Vegas was Duva. Roc Nation had Barclay's reserved for the same date. Per Vegas athletic commission the judges have to be Nevada judges. The only stipulation in the contract was the fight couldn't be in Russia or California. Duva insisted on Vegas
Duva said Roc Nation Sports backed away from verbal commitments to place the HBO pay-per-view bout in Las Vegas, despite the fact that no venue in New York or in Ward’s hometown of Oakland could provide a better offer.
Andre Ward’s promoter, rapper Jay Z’s Roc Nation Sports, is dragging its feet to commit to staging a Nov. 19 light-heavyweight title fight against Sergey Kovalev at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
If you think Ward clinched more than Kovlaev in that fight it's obvious you didn't watch the fight. Kovalev initiated a lot of the clinches.Comment

this clown that runs this channel is biased. he counts the punches Kovalev lands to Wards back in a clinch. he did the same in the Castillo/Mayweather video. besides man judges in the pros are not sitting there counting punches. there are other criteria in the pros. why not just bring the amateur system to the pros then.Comment

nah man, let them have it. everything was against ward, the whole world was against him and he pulled it off like in rocky IVComment

this is pointless. you dont even realize how much of an advantage ward was starting with during the negotiations so whats the point? omg it could have been in vegas or new york what a choice for duva! she picked vegas it was her idea! im sure she would have chose russia if it was really up to her but she had limited options because ward will only fight in certain places. in order to get ward in teh ring you have to do whatever he wants. he simply will not take risks or travel as we know from the super six and turning down career high paydays. obv this benefits him a lot and the judges screwed up and gave him the fight, even messin up on clear rounds like roudn 10 so that right there tells you how important lil things like that being in wards favor matter. The five million dollars came from his promoter. kov landed just as good or better inside. you are trying to go with the ward dominated on the inside narrative but i have video of the fight so it wont work with me. a lot of his shots were low, or non scoring shots to the back, inside of the gloves, or simply low quality grazing shots with not much on them. meanwhile on the inside kov was scoring with tight hooks and well placed body shots.Comment

well its not perfect on either side. he counts low blows that wards throws but you can see kov lands a lot more and you can see the quality of punch is clearly in kovs favor. what do judges score on....it clearly was not clean punching in ward-kov so what was it? what was the secret criteria that won ward the fight? i would like to know.this clown that runs this channel is biased. he counts the punches Kovalev lands to Wards back in a clinch. he did the same in the Castillo/Mayweather video. besides man judges in the pros are not sitting there counting punches. there are other criteria in the pros. why not just bring the amateur system to the pros then.Comment

Good point. ^
I still firmly believe that after the KD, most people got it in their heads that Ward was going to lose. That's what I initially thought. The difference is that I still kept scoring the rounds with an open mind whereas others just couldn't look past the idea that Krusher was going to win acd they scored accordingly.
That said, it was close so I don't have a problem with people who think it could go either way, even if they have Kov winning.Comment
