Firstly, you have to identify Golovkin's strengths. Because of all his spectacular knockouts people tend to overlook that he was a class amateur a world champion and Olympic silver medallist prior to terrorising the pros. He's got real pedigree, a solid base and foundation. He brings excellent footwork, great balance and timing. He finds good angles and hits the (unprotected) spaces. He doesn't waste much. Also, he curves a lot of his shots around the guard. And he's got such confidence, composure and assurance. He'd be an elite fighter regardless of whether he carried the equaliser', which clearly he does.

If he didn't carry the "equaliser" Brook would have beat him

Brook would have been blowing like a milk horse mid to late fight he was carrying weight he wasn't used to, GGG took risks because he knew he was in with a WW that couldn't really hurt him so he just got on him and chased him down until he broke him.

Best way to beat GGG is not to get hit.

Everyone has a plan till they get punched in the mouth.

I agree no one is invincible, but I don't see a guy at 160 who can pull it off. Jmo.

whoever beats GGG will have to focus on his body. we already know his chin is solid but can he take it downstairs? never seen a guy even try. maybe its fear. opponents throw gameplan out the window when he approaches cutting off the ring. Brook was lighting him up with combos but all upstairs.

i agree with Canelo having the best shot because GGG will be right in front of him and nobody throws combos like Canelo. he mixes up punches better than anybody and is very slick in the pocket. GGG will take a beating.

but if Brook lifted him off his feet with an uppercut he better not let Jacobs land that punch.

How to beat GGG? It's no secret, you dont have to be a boxing trainer to know it: hurt hm physically, impose yourself, make it a dog fight, takeh is hsots and keep dishing your own shots out. He cant punch when you're up close with him, stifling his work and physically imposing yourself.

I said that was the best gameplan for Brook to use if he wanted a shot at beating GGG. I rememebr people quoting that post and saying that was a crap idea. It's not. He arguably won 2 rounds and landed some serious punches. Problem was, he was not a middleweight or one accustomed to the weight. Plus GGG hits so damn hard.

What we require, is a fighter with Brook's guts to work the plan but to be able to match GGG in size and strength.

There's no one like that at middleweight. Moving andp otshotting cant beat GGG becauset he man is a classy boxer, can cut off the ring and is more accurate than most so called "slick boxers". Moving andj abbing is only going to get your ass beat worse.

It would take a middleweight version of 'Sugar' Ray Leonard, Pernell Whitaker or Mayweather to have a good chance of beating Golovkin, who is not as physical as Hagler but seems a bit more relentless. Except for the Hagler that pitched up against Hearns, that was best 3 rounds ever seen in a short fight.

all see him as beatable, yet all admit its a big ask

I agree that Jacobs, Lara, Saunders, and Canelo will all ask different questions..... all are good/very good fights

and I agree that Canelo has the best chance

                    Golovkin is the best middleweight
