I agree about Thurman . He's showed flashes of it in other fights where he moves a bit too much and will occasionally pot shot . Which is the reason I picked DSG to win . But, well ...
The fight was a OK fight . But IMO the fight failed (for the most part) in its main objective. Which was to bring in New viewers . Sure 5 million tuned in but will they be back after what they saw ?

Feel like Thurman was getting after it at first, and then once he built what appeared to be a comfortable lead, he stopped stalking and then Garcia was on the offensive slightly. But Garcia seemed hesitant even. He can say what he wants, but I think Thurman's punching power kept him honest. Not a lot of fireworks the second half, though.

          boxers getting criticized for.. boxing.

can you imagine a baseball fan being mad at their pitcher for not allowing home runs. the Spurs were called boring for many years, should they have changed their style even though it won them titles?

if the only form of "excitement" in boxing is two guys standing in one place punching each other senseless what is the point of a ring? why not tie them at the waist with cinder blocks on their ankles and let them bomb away.

Thurman showed theres others layers to his game. his boxing has improved dramatically. but who cares he should've stayed in the pocket all night. why utilize his other "boring" skills.

he whooped Garcia at close range then schooled him with pot shots and counters. a brilliant display of skills.

Thurman did not beat Garcia at close range. He has zero inside game. He caught Garcia cold early then ran the rest of the fight stopping only to throw pitter patter punches in the last 30 secs.

Amen...we all love Castillo vs Coralles but you cant have it all of the time...maybe a punch in the face from Danny Garcia might change the minds of some of the earlier posters.

It was meh. Which isn't good.

I enjoyed Thurman out boxing Garcia more in the final 3 rounds of anything. He also could've stopped him at any point.

Nope, he couldn't even stop Bundu.

The last few rounds made me feel a bit uneasy too but I can understand Thurman was just trying to be careful and get the easy victory.

I'm a Thurman fan but yeah, those final rounds trouble me a little bit. I wanted him to show his fortitude and mix it up a bit. I believe that he could have done that and won those last rounds. But let's remember that it's often the guys who like to engage unnecessarily that end up losing their 0's sooner rather than later. These days everyone is putting so much emphasis on remaining undefeated. I would rather see a 'fight" than a chess match but I understand why Keith fought like that even though I'm not happy about it.

Thurman's been entertaining in most of his fights so he can afford a tactical fight now and again.
