When it came to fighting middleweights in the middleweight division, we all know this about GGG- Martinez ducked him when he was lineal champ, Cotto ducked him when he was lineal champ and Canelo ducked him when he was lineal champ. Saunders didn't want a fight, Andy Lee was interested but fucked up fight Saunders.
Eubank Jr. didn't want the fight and Peter Quillin didn't want the fight unless he was getting Floyd money.
Ward was a non active fighter so his word meant as much as mine. He was a commentator not a fighter.
0:40 Sergio has never turned down the fight with Gennady - Tom Loeffler

You have to do it multiple times to different fighters. Not a one and done type of deal.

I can't understand Canelo point of view.
Ok, he gets money for every fight but a real champion should fight with best ones of his category... and which is Category of Canelo? He continues to change from Middleweight to welterweight, being champion of WBO superwelter that is less prestigious than mentioned ones above.
I would choose Welter and try to get all possible belts in this category.

An Africutioner is a fighter (GGG) who dominates the African American competition in boxing. Similar to Pac being the Mexicutioner in his day, This Saturday GGG will sacrifice another one.

But the choking out of McGregor doesn't give him the name.

All these are potential reasons why it may not have made sense for GGG to sign just yet (and that's without even knowing what other stipulations may have been in GBPs offer), even though to my mind the reported $10 - 15 mil would be a chance Golovkin should jump at in normal circumstances - flat fee or no - given the parlous state of PPVs in the last coupla years.

Would the offer still stand? Would Golovkin get a better split? Would the expected revenues drop sufficiently that both would have to settle for less? Would Golovkin get shunted back? Is there a rematch clause for JCC jr/ Canelo?
