Would Golovkin get a better split? Would the expected revenues drop sufficiently that both would have to settle for less? Would Golovkin get shunted back? Is there a rematch clause for JCC jr/ Canelo?

All these are potential reasons why it may not have made sense for GGG to sign just yet (and that's without even knowing what other stipulations may have been in GBPs offer), even though to my mind the reported $10 - 15 mil would be a chance Golovkin should jump at in normal circumstances - flat fee or no - given the parlous state of PPVs in the last coupla years.
the "offer" is obviously predicated on both guys winning any interim fights. And as for what happens if Canelo loses? Well thats why Golden Boy put in a rematch clause in the Chavez deal......

I actually watched it the other day, one of the replays shows a good left uppercut hitting Cotto. Other fighters have dropped and hurt Cotto. Not Alvarez's. Like I say, you can wish what you want. But there's no evidence of this Canelo who stops strong world class fighters, especially at middle. Let alone to be the first to put to sleep the world's leading middleweight who's never been down in a fight.

you mean like Hops fighting a who's who of nobodies until age 36 (besides getting clowned by Roy), until he got fights against a former welter in Tito and a former Jr. Lightweight in Oscar?

        Like that, or different?

and so will GGG. In case you forgot, he's already a multi-millionaire, richer than he could ever have imagined, and has the respect and admiration of fight fans around the world.

          And you'll still be you.

          lol

I'm not doing a power comparison because anyone who knows this sport know if you get hit on the button, the lights are going out. My point is that Cottos defense is indeed underrated, and cotto isn't nearly as "shot" as floyd haters or triple P buttlovers would like to believe.

I can't see Alvarez stopping Golovkin. I don't think Golovkin has nearly as bad a defence as people make out. Sure he got abit careless against Brook a fighter who's power is underrated and who's accuracy is maybe hes greatest asset. The thing is, if Canelo was this destructive force I think we'd have seen it by now. I think middle will negate him more, his frame will mean he gives up reach and while he's improved his defence I think he's going to be up against it physically. I don't expect him to stop too many bigger men. I guess Chavez will be a clue, as I said earlier. I think that one goes the distance too though.

Oh, you want a resume comparison with hopkins? Are you REALLY sure you want to do that? Lmao...how sad is it that passed 36 years old hopkins fought better opposition than gaylovekin has yet to fight in his first 36? How sad is it that the man had to be 50 years old before he was able to even be stopped? Let's see if your hero accomplishes that. Also, in case you have a short memory...Oscar was the star...Hopkins knew his place and took LESS MONEY AND A CATCHWEIGHT to make that fight happen...156 lbs iirc right? See, that's what real champions do to make fights happen, especially when they know their place as the B side.

                  sure

compare Hops from debut to age 35, and compare GGG from debut to age 35

But since thats actually a fair comparison, your mind likely wont let you do it

Speaking of Oscar? Why did he agree to Pac's CW when he was the A-Side??? At a weight class he hasn't fought at for like 8 years??? Plus he was soo inactive then? 4 fights in 3 fight in like 4/5 years??
