GGG haven't really took any damage, at 36, age shouldn't have a factor here.

Though it's just pre-fight banter, it's always a good showing of confidence when you hear things like this so more power to him.
The age thing is interesting. If age IS affecting him right now, we won't know until this fight because no one in the last year and a half has been good enough to expose it.Comment

It's not power, necessarily, that wins GGG fights. That's what Lemieux was trying to say after his fight. GGG might not have this explosive one-punch knockout power, mainly because he loads up so much on his punches and hence they slow down. What GGG brings is heavy handedness, those punches eat away at a fighter. Plus, GGG brings strength to a fight. The ability to control his opponent by walking them down, pinning them, walking through shots to land his own. Jacobs is going to have to hurt GGG, I mean properly hurt him, to stop him walking right toward him and unloading.
Or, he could try and outbox him by throwing 1-2's and moving but that's not really worked either, GGG cuts the ring off excellently and seems to have the longest arms when trapping an opponent.
GGG by late stoppage once he's ground Jacobs down.Comment

Don't forget, punches on fight night usually aren't even the main damage one incurs. Joints get worn, nagging injuries build up, there's many rounds of sparing, and a guy subsequently loses his movement and 'pop'. Look at how much Mayweather (the poster boy for aging well in boxing) changed his style over the years to compensate for wear and tear. He's even commented about that.
I think GG's style will age OK so long as his chin holds up. Power is the last thing to go and his offense is more strategy based than speed based so he should be able to hold up for a while, hopefully.Comment

We all know it will be nothing but excuses from Jacobs' side after he gets his ass kicked.
I hope they blame inactivityComment

Well put. You made some good points there. Jacobs has struggled with former super welterweights like Mora and Ishe Smith. No question about it. Jacobs is a classy, well mannered guy. But, boy, is he in for a sudden awakening this Saturday. GGG will pull worst than a "Pirog" on him... If feathered hand Mora could put him on his butt, what will GGG do to him? The way that he rushed Mora in their first fight was SO amateurish. It is certainly NOT by defeating the likes of Mora or Truax that he could have prepared himself for GGG. Also, the fact that he buzzed Quillin - who should have been given a standing count instead of being stopped - proves nothing... He just surprised Quillin and prevented him from settling down and the crowd played in Jacobs favor in leading the referee to stop the fight precipitously. I personally think that Jacobs power is overestimated - he punches the same way than Calzaghe did - with his forearms. Anyhow, even though I really like and respect Jacobs as a man, he will be bulldozed by GGG. Personally, I think that the 2 best middleweights presently are 1) GGG; 2) Lemieux. Period...Comment
