Comments Thread For: Jacobs' Manager: Don't Want Age, Focus Excuses From Golovkin

NEW YORK – Gennady Golovkin and Daniel Jacobs haven’t come remotely close to talking trash throughout this promotion. The well-mannered middleweights remained completely polite before, during and after a press conference Monday to promote their showdown Saturday night at Madison Square Garden. Kazakhstan’s Golovkin and Brooklyn’s Jacobs clearly have a lot of respect for one another and are approaching promoting their HBO Pay-Per-View main event as if the intriguing nature of their matchup will sell itself.

Might be sensible to wait til he wins before he even begins to worry about such issues...

I don't believe age or lack of focus will be a problem for GGG. It's the media, so call boxing fans & a few people around him who comes up with topics that outsiders think is to coming from GGG! GGG is always focus on the task at hand. Jacobs cannot fight going backwards & I don't think he has the strength to make GGG back-up so I see GGG wearing Jacobs down.

            Jacobs in trouble

No question about it. Jacobs is a classy, well mannered guy. But, boy, is he in for a sudden awakening this Saturday. GGG will pull worst than a "Pirog" on him... If feathered hand Mora could put him on his butt, what will GGG do to him? The way that he rushed Mora in their first fight was SO amateurish. It is certainly NOT by defeating the likes of Mora or Truax that he could have prepared himself for GGG. Also, the fact that he buzzed Quillin - who should have been given a standing count instead of being stopped - proves nothing... He just surprised Quillin and prevented him from settling down and the crowd played in Jacobs favor in leading the referee to stop the fight precipitously. I personally think that Jacobs power is overestimated - he punches the same way than Calzaghe did - with his forearms. Anyhow, even though I really like and respect Jacobs as a man, he will be bulldozed by GGG. Personally, I think that the 2 best middleweights presently are 1) GGG; 2) Lemieux. Period...

Go put that money on it then. 8-1 is a good payout.

I've actually thought he may bulldoze him too, maybe the same thing Jacobs did to Quillin.

I keep trying to play the fight out in my head. And part of me thinks ggg may come in different than before by coming out swinging KO shots rather than feeling his opponent out.

Jacobs manager is a loud mouth bragger with nothing to show for it. Golovkin will be the first to give Jacobs credit if he dethrones him. We're talking class vs bragger. Just start acting like a professional and show some respect.
