Comments Thread For: Loeffler: No Reason GGG Can't Fight 6/10, Canelo in September

Canelo is the A side he's the biggest draw in boxing he can fight ANYONE in Sept and it will be on PPV and make more money then any lame Kazakhstan fight lol But more importantly GGG loses the fight in sept and has to wait till 2018 for the fight. You keep coming up with these scenarios like GGG is the A side calling shots there is no fight GGG can take that will give him leverage over canelo. And a paper belt over Saunders means nothing at the negotiations table. Sergio held the real crown the true middleweight champ and he already beat Chavez. How did any of that help him in negotiations with Cotto? Had to give up every demand because all that meant nothing Cotto was the PPV star and bigger draw so the fight went down on his terms or not at all.
Canelo is ONLY 26 already the biggest Star he has nothing but options literally every fighter 2 weight classes below or above Canelo wants to fight him and will do so at a fraction of cost they offered GGG. GGG is 35 with no history of PPV success and no big fight options outside of Canelo. Some how I think Canelo will be just ok if GGG ducks the Sept payday. LMAO
I never said anything involving GGG as the A-side or even equal parity. I'm not even talking about negotiations you twit.
The only discussion here is that of the Canelo/GGG promotion. Essentially GB could promote the GGG/BJS fight as an eliminator to face Canelo, but instead they'd rather call the whole thing off.

By the time it was known Jacobs wasn't gonna go in December there was no time to get another fight. That fight was delayed a dozen times during negotiations since September because K2 decided to give Jacobs extra time. They could have easily have gotten Jacobs stripped early, and have time for that 3rd fight. With Jacob's approval (with the the threat have having him stripped), they could also have easily gotten approval from the WBA to take an interim fight. They had plenty of choice.
It's pretty ridiculous they bent over backwards for Jacobs, but won't skip a fight for the biggest fight of his career.
And they can't just pick any date, so many other factors come into play. Like HBO availability. They're not gonna pay just so he can fight.
But more importantly, K2 cannot pass over the last title on the chance Canelo may be serious.
Especially with De La Hoya out there talking Chavez rematches.Comment

Assuming GGG isn't upset or suffer any kind of injury and assuming negotiations wrap up quickly and smooth UNLIKE what K2 did in his previous fight with Jacobs. A fight date planned for Dec was lost because K2 phuked around for months dragging things out and the fight had to be pushed to March. These are all risks for Canelo who is the A side and DOESN'T need GGG. Canelo will say ok these fools walked away from a fortune to waste time in Kazakhstan we move on and give a career changing payday to someone else we'll see you GGG in 2018 and you can explain to your fans why you turned down 15m for a fight you could get at anytime.Sure they have the right, but it's still completely unreasonable and would once again put them firmly at fault for the fight not happening
They'd have the whole of July and August to promote the fight plus a good chunk of June and September too
it's a nonsensical excuse to claim they wouldn't have enough timeComment

First, if you want to use the unofficial number for ggg fight, use it for Canelo, which were said to Far less than was said, which 300k. So what, 150k. Canelo 7th ppv sold like crap.
But he ou want to talk **** about GGG first.
One only needs to look at how often De La Hoya and Canelo promise the ggg fight to know they are under pressure,
NOW, Canelo team is whining GGGis gonna fight before they take another fight.
Canelo can go fight, who, Tim Bradley. Good for him.Comment

Whats unreasonable and nonsensical about it? This is a big money fight and needs to be treated as such. There is no other fight in boxing that doesn't involve Mayweather that can make the type of money a properly promoted Alvarez Golovkin fight can make. It has to be done right from a business perspective.Sure they have the right, but it's still completely unreasonable and would once again put them firmly at fault for the fight not happening

Dude, Golden Boy president Gomez said the 15m number is bs. Just stop.Assuming GGG isn't upset or suffer any kind of injury and assuming negotiations wrap up quickly and smooth UNLIKE what K2 did in his previous fight with Jacobs. Canelo fans are suddenly concerned GGG is not taking a Canelo serious after a year of laughing Canelo was toying with K2.
Good for K2 for calling their bullshiiiit for what it is.
Also, it was Hacobs team that pushed the fight back to have more time training. But let's criticize Golovkin for allowing his opponent to get in his best shape.
Maybe he should just drain him like Canelo is doing Chavez.Comment

I'm with you on this...but that's a personal decision by Trip and his team. Not an obligation for GBP to honor.By the time it was known Jacobs wasn't gonna go in December there was no time to get another fight.
