I scored the first fight a draw, second fight needed no scoring. Third fight I was right on the money, 9 rounds to 3 Tarver, clearly the better man between the two of them.

Because Tarver doesn't fight the best. He fights for $$. He should be making fights with Adamek, Briggs, Erdei, etc. All of whom want to fight him, but he's busy chasing dollars and losers... Hopkins, Tyson, et.
Tarver bitched like a ***** about not getting his shot, about Roy not fighting him, and as soon as he gets in Roy's old spot what does he do? Refuse to fight the best. Hey, he's making money, so more power to him, but don't look for respect from the sport when you chase dollars and losers.Comment

You have to understand that Tarver is 37, he doesn't have too many years in his career. Let the man make some money & retire.Originally posted by mECHsLAVEBecause Tarver doesn't fight the best. Good point gunstar I tried to make the same point earlier in this thread, I know I would if I was pushing forty and not financially stable for life. He started fighting late and he had to get big money fight's for the rest of his career after that while he still can. That seems smart to me and I'd like to see how many ppl wouldn't try to secure their future if in the same situation.Comment

Exactly what I said, more power to him if he wants to make money. But don't cry about "respect" and all that bull****. He's a hypocrite. He whined about Roy not giving him his shot and as soon as he got in that spot he doesn't want to give any of the other top LHW's a shot. He just wants $$$ against losers.
I'm happy for him, everyone knows he's older and is only about $$$, but he doesn't need to cry about respect, because that's a joke and is just hypocrisy. Be happy you can make some big money fights and do it while you can, but STFU about respect already. He knows what he could do to get respect and what he could do to make $$. He's choosing $$.Comment

Mechslave I admit he does talk alot but if you really think about it he got his career defining fight by doing just that. He doesn't have the most fan's so he's talking to get people to watch even if it's just to hate him. Basicly I'm saying I feel what your saying but know that he's pretty intelligent and well spoken and Hopkins isn't so washed up that it's a garuantee. It's not like this is the only fighter who says 1 thing and does the other it's the sport, kinda like how Hatton said Collazo could get another fight but he know's he'll make more money with a bigger name and take that route. Nobody's calling him a hypocrite or Oscar/ StermComment

The fact that all of you hate Tarver so much that you would pay to watch Bernard Hopkins (!?!?!?!?!?!) fight him in the hopes of shutting his mouth means Tarver is winning. You are all playing right into the man's hands.

I can promise you, unequivocally, that I will NOT be paying for that fight.Originally posted by DiegoFuegoThe fact that all of you hate Tarver so much that you would pay to watch Bernard Hopkins (!?!?!?!?!?!) fight him in the hopes of shutting his mouth means Tarver is winning. I may casually scan the headlines the next day to see who won, but I won't be in any rush to do so.Comment
