Top 25 maybe top 20
Where does Mayweather rank realistically on an all time list?

I rank him as great. Who cares about a number IMO. Boxings history is too long and there's too many great champions. So why bother putting a number on it?Comment

Would have to make a list to get an idea. I don't feel he's near guys like Leonard, Duran etc and legacy wise Pacquiao has more accolades pertaining to in-ring accomplishments, but you gotta note that a few of the ATG's are as high as they are because they changed the sport or stood up for something bigger. Floyd did bring about the age of strict testing and a more critical look at juicing in the sport.Comment

He could be pretty high up on the 130lb division. He was a completely different fighter at that weight. He could move and punch with decent power.
As a welter he wouldn't be a top twenty guy, he has no power and his experiences in that division are about 13 fights!!!!
Talented boxer with high skill levels but above 130 he gets ******ed. I wrote a post yesterday just using Duran at 135 then Armstrong at 140 and Sugar Ray Robinson at 147!
All of them chase lil' Floyd all over the ring and stop him!!
It's not even close!

When there are rankings made by experts/historians/media he is almost always in the top 20 all time.Comment

Probably in the top 10-15.
Dude beat more world champions than anyone in history. People only judge him for the 2nd half of his career, when he was "Money" and avoided risk in his 30s, but he was a killer at lightweight in his prime and fought everybody back when he needed to.
And yes, he did lose to Jose Luis Castillo the first time, but that's it. He won the rest of those fights, even the one against Maidana.
People just don't like the guy for . . . . . . . . .obvious reasons.Comment
