Coto is looking for a soft touch because all the good guys have already fought pretty much this part of the year... the 1/2 remaining would beat him... most certainly he would not take on Crawford , total and he's not going to take that chance cell phone for a name B fighter watching see...

I should have but greed, and all the "experts" picking Sergio got the better of me. Honestly I didn't read one person picking Cotto at the time?? I also figured over a year off he would be ok. Didn't he ask to wear a brace just days before the fight?? I can't remember? Did he hurt his knee fighting in the rain against Murray?? Or before that?

I think what did it for me was when he tried to tell Martinez he couldn't use knee wraps.
I actually think it's part of the same conversation. I think the first Margarito fight taught Cotto that you can't trust anyone to really have your back; no one else is going to bleed for you. Then you have the Pacquiao fight which taught Cotto that you can get knocked out at the negotiating table. Put those two things together (and add a small dose of Floyd's business model) and you have post-2012 Cotto.

Not that my opinion matters, but I've always been somewhat understanding of Cotto's diva-like tendencies. I think Cotto is an exceptionally gifted fighter, but Margarito robbed him of his prime...which is the worst thing you can do to a professional athlete. What makes it worse is that it was a criminally violent robbery in front of his family.

If I were in Cotto's shoes, I'd probably be a bit of a d!ck too.

Still...this is a very frustrating time to be a Cotto fan.

I posted it on almost every Cotto-Martinez thread. In the end, the experts are no different than you or me. Human beings with an opinion.

I think the whole brace thing was actually THE NIGHT OF the fight.

you have no proof either of those things happened so that's nonsense.joto is a diva! fight a challenge instead of cherry picking an easy win. its been funny to watch his fights fall apart from an old man with a bum knee to a walking punching bag maybe joto will contact margarito for the trilogy lol.

Shut it. The Trout loss maybe because of how he was dominated, he made the ****** decisions in that fight. By promoting, and selecting everything, to not having a true professional trainer because to be honest "Pedro Diaz" is not a great professional fighter trainer. So he bit to much off.

But he fought a prime Canelo and gave him a hell of a fight.

I understood your point of view and where you were coming from and agree. The reason I said that was a whole different convo was because it would turn this thread into a mess.

Have you ever been in a Cotto vs Margarito or Cotto vs Pacquiao thread? Yea...

Cotto was dominating that first fight and then his face out of nowhere looked atrocious. Like if Cotto was fighting a heavy weight.

Proof is what happen after he got caught with wraps. Looked like he had 0 power 0. He got destroyed and looked a shell of his self.

Pacquiao, Trout, Canelo (sortof), and Mayweather are his losses imo.

3 of those loses he made poor trainer decisions.
