Fair play you're consistent, but others on this forum seem to have a problem with it. In general it seems like people are all good with identity politics until white people start buying into them too
I'm against them in general - especially in boxing, the most individualist of sports - but I respect consistencyComment

That's where the problem lies, CONSISTENCY!!Fair play you're consistent, but others on this forum seem to have a problem with it. In general it seems like people are all good with identity politics until white people start buying into them too

It's okay to support your own kind, I'm Nigerian and would probably never root against a fighter representing my country. We don't have many quality fighters so this issue won't come up very often.
The problem is when you give fighters of your own kind a pass for things but then clamp down hard with criticism on fighters of other races, that's when it becomes a problem.Comment

White guy here. I like watching Floyd and am so-so on Ward. I was okay with the decision going either way and, if you score it BY ROUNDS and NOT who you felt won, I can see Ward winning it. But that be giving Ward just about all the swing rounds. Kovalev's fault for fading and not making it more decisive, but yes Ward did receive generous judging in terms of "swing" rounds

Racial tensions are at an all time high on NSB and they stem from the frustration of Floyd retiring undefeated. Instead of beating around the bush, we need to address the underlying issue:
1. Floyd retired undefeated and beat Pac
2. Floyd and his fans are obnoxious ass holes
3. Because of number 2, they wanted to see Floyd take an L so they could rub it in the face of his ass hole fans.
4. That never happened, so instead, they try to associate all black fighters with Floyd fans so that they can achieve their unfinished business. These fighters include Ward, Wilder, Broner, Spence, etc. When these guys take Ls, it serves as a consolation prize for Floyd taking an L so they can get that moral victory over what they refer to as "Floyd fans"
A hole in one.

See I never felt the need to be unrealistic about Sam Peter's abilities. Yes, I rooted for him on occasions and wanted to see him do well, but that's about it.That's where the problem lies, CONSISTENCY!!

Great posts. Nice to know that level headed, impartial and reasonable boxing fans still exist.White guy here. I like watching Floyd and am so-so on Ward. Yeah I know what you mean, Peter could punch and take a punch back in the day but I wouldn't start comparing him to Tyson or Frazier. He was very limited with not much boxing ability at all. Not like some of these guys that will tell you Wilder uses angles for his windmill punches. Or the ones that won't admit that Golovkin has some defensive lapses and will tell you that he let Brook hit him with those uppercuts.... NSB is a special place sometimes.Comment
