A systematic breakdown and a quick g'nite mate punch. Notice those body shots twisting Stevens around too? This was an annihilation. Brutal. What now? Who will fight him after this? Derevyanchenko may be a good one if he is ready to take a chance this early in his career, doubtful though. I guess just any MW who needs a good paycheck bad enough.

I think GGG is a beast, and will probably stop Danny next week (who is definitely the #2 middleweight), but stop trying to hype up these decent fighters like they're world beaters. You don't have to justify his opponents to claim he's a great talent.

Most people can't even name Hagler's MW foes, but he was great nonetheless.
There's a really bad trend in boxing now that unless someone is on the pound for pound list they are just an OK fighter. These are world class fighters, the winner is definitely top ten probably top five and why everyone who ever had a loss is turning into a bum I'll never know. It was a grear knock out between two good fighters. Why do people even watch boxing if only a handful of fighters interest them?.

You make a few assumptions that I never state in my post. I don't think either guy is a "bum", both are decent professionals. But I'm not going to act like David is some beast, when I've watched him fight for years and that tells me otherwise. And being "top 10" as a middleweight means little in this current crop (it is as bad as claimed imho). I'd put David probably right in that bunch (depending on who we're calling MWs) but Stevens at his best was a top 10 guy, and we know he's far from that now. Good knockout, that people are trying to take too much meaning from.

Lemieux -Jermall would be hell of a fight!

Jacobs? He is lemieux level, but not GGG level, so I expect Jacobs loses by TKO or KO. GGG is top dog in division.

Glad to see him rebuild himself since the GGG loss.

I'm interested to see who's next for him.

I'm hoping we get David Lemeiux vs Billy Jo Saunders next.

As for Stevens it might be time to call it a career. That was by far his worst loss ever.
Stevens is a borderline journeyman who got outboxed by Jesse Brinkley. Lemiuex is what he is. A one dimensional slugger. He makes for fun fights and he brings the heat, but he is nothing special.

Just watched this fight. Awesome fight, both guys came to battle. What I like to see. Stevens was worn down quick by Lemiuex though, guy is strong as an ox.
