I think we can all agree, TBE deserves credit for offering to fight McGregor

Unless this boxing match is contested with 4 oz. MMA gloves, Conor stands no chance. Floyd needs to age another two years for Conor to beat him. Floyd knows this is easy money and he'll try to fight Conor at 147 instead of 154.
This is the classic definition of a big money circus fight. The event and build up will be fun as hell, but the match itself will be like any other Floyd fight. He'll put on a boxing clinic and he might even stop Conor considering how bad his cardio is.
There was that famous video clip of Conor getting schooled by his sparring partner, but somehow he's a risk to Mayweather?

Also, before inflating the value of the Aldo win, consider that JDS leveled Velasquez rather quickly in their first fight. But, we all know what happened in the two rematches. 13 seconds is not sufficient to lean a fighter's entire resume on.

The difference between the two is that Mayweather actually earned the role. McGregor is a product of the star-maker machine. There are plenty of other MMA fighters who are true examples of phenomenal athletes, but those fans are more about hype than crediting actual talent.Last edited by Redd Foxx; 03-11-2017, 02:58 PM.

So you think Pacquiao II, would be an easier fight than a guy who's never boxed pro, and never above age groups? I understand this is a troll thread - but why don't you cut to the chase and come out and say you had a fridge dropped on your head as a child?
I hope my **** this morning comes out as dense as you.

McGregor is not even a C level fighter in pro boxing terms.
Not hating on the guy, it's just the simple truth.
He'd struggle in the Golden Gloves, let alone the pro ranks.
Anyone who believes otherwise is just naive to the point of pure ******ity.

Also, your second paragraph completely nullifies your point - You aren't wrong about rematches turning out differently than the first fight, but in raising that point, you invalid any purpose of harping on Conor's loss to Diaz in the first place.

Anything can happen, but on paper Floyd is lightyears ahead in every department of everything. I for one, would definitely want to see this fight, just for the gathering it would create. Boxing would be talked about again on the streetcorners. It'd be a brutal affair for boxing, should McGregor happen rob the bank and get the KO. Biggest upset ever.

If he fought him in MMA, then yes. It would be gutsy as hell. However, McGregor's never boxed. Never went twelve. This is a circus match-up.

There are obviously a lot more variables to the sport and each fighter's comparative abilites than that, stop playing dumb.

That's a common statement people love to throw out when criticizing McGregor, but you all know it's not true. You don't become as popular of a mega-star like Conor is just because someone tells you to - It's not that easy and simple, and if it was, the UFC would put that kind of marketing behind everyone.
