No wonder Michel has been struggling to secure an opponent for Beterbiev. He and Duva tried to reach an agreement before the purse bid but the negotiations fell through, certainly owing to money. If Michel had offered Barrera $100-150K, the fight would probably still be on.

Here's an idea...Main Events promotes Kovalev and GYM promotes Stevenson. Why not just do Stevenson vs Beterbiev and Kovalev vs Barrera.

Barrera made $450,000 to fight Ward so the odds of him, or anyone one else, accepting $60,000 to fight Beterbiev is a little ridiculous. Risk vs no Reward is apparently unacceptable to Barrera.

Real issue is why the *** it take him so long to pull out of the fight, he knew all the numbers a long time ago and agreed to it. Fans should be pissed at him for pulling out so late whilst knowing all the figures for so long.

It would e a good stay busy fight while they wait for Ward to do whatever it is he does. I don't think Barrera can win tho
