Yeah I think it was USADA that the article was about. That's why lots of UFC fighters have iffy test levels, but if everyone else is doping "legally" then you'd be at it too!VADA, and I think UKAD too, use a more sophisticated testing protocol that doesn't depend on whether T levels are below a certain "possible" threshold. They measure the ratio of testosterone to epitestosterone (don't ask me what that is, lol) and this tells them whether or not the T in an athlete's body has been naturally produced in that athlete's body, rather than introduced by some nefarious means.
But nandrolone isn't T, it's a substance that mimics the effects of T on the body. And it can be produced naturally, within the body, in small amounts, as a reaction to contaminants sometimes found in legal supplements and beef. That seems to be what the Fury's are using to defend themselves against UKAD's charges.
Will get read up on epitestosterone! I'm against doping but I find it insane how much you can chemically augment a human body for sport.Comment
