based on what you're saying, i've seen posts from fans of every fighter claiming their guy beats A,B, and C....especially Brook fans!

and since golovkin and brook were brought up in this thread, i'll say the difference between them and spence is that spence has yet to contradict himself, or claim he'll do one thing, then does an about face and does another. he also hasn't complained about money either. but as was stated, he's not a 10+ year pro, who is just now starting to get his career off the ground.


the kid has been pro for only about 4 years....claims he wants all the belts, and is willing to fight ANYBODY. the excuse we hear from the 'names' and their fans alike, is that he hasn't fought anybody.


dude has an old-school mentality, and is willing to fight anywhere, as we see. he's also humble, and while believing in himself, hasn't trashed anybody else.

in about 2 and a half months time, you guys will have to find another fighter to hate on, and the 147lb. division will have to find another excuse to avoid him, because the "he hasn't beaten anybody" excuse won't fly anymore.

This much I agree with, which I've stated previously. He has been on an awful run since beating Porter, yet no matter how he did it, regardless of whether or not you agree with how he beat Porter, he still beat Porter, and is a world champion.

And don't remind me about that last part! in my mind, he sent his wife home because they were about to eat some seafood kebabs, and Mrs Brook is allergic.

I think both Spence and Golovkin are the best in their divisions.

I have no problem with this statement/belief.

I just want their respective resumes to reflect that belief, so that when their respective fan bases trumpet this belief, it can be backed up on paper.

This is true. Yet the difference is still there. That's the thing. I'm not dis*****g Errol Spence isn't supremely talented or anything. I'm saying, if he can go right through Kell Brook, let him do so before claiming he's a monster.

The problem I have with over-hype is that it leads to undeserved hate for the fighter. Then we get situations where dislike becomes racially fueled, and it no longer becomes about boxing.
