Message For Spence Fans...

Can you please cool it a little on the Spence hype. Claiming he'll destroy everybody at WW, and that he's some kind of monster when he has a paper thin resume isn't helping things. I mean sure, dude's talented, has power, and seems like he has the potential to be up there with the best, but he hasn't faced ANYBODY yet. He's run through Algieri, but that's like it. GGG's fanatical fan base constantly trumpeting how he's the best when his resume isn't that great is one of the things that draws the derision from people on here, and if you guys do the same for Errol, it'll just result in ridiculous back and forth arguments, and eventually, dislike that Spence doesn't deserve.

My advice is to just chill a little. Support your dude, believe in him, but wait for him to actually face and beat top tier (B, B+ and A level) fighters before claiming he'll wreck everybody.

He has a fight with Kell Brook coming up. Let's see how he handles it.

I see MORE Americans hating Errol than supporting him.......hell......I see more Americans supporting/hyping Kell Brook.

and since golovkin and brook were brought up in this thread, i'll say the difference between them and spence is that spence has yet to contradict himself, or claim he'll do one thing, then does an about face and does another. he also hasn't complained about money either. but as was stated, he's not a 10+ year pro, who is just now starting to get his career off the ground.


the kid has been pro for only about 4 years....claims he wants all the belts, and is willing to fight ANYBODY. the excuse we hear from the 'names' and their fans alike, is that he hasn't fought anybody.


dude has an old-school mentality, and is willing to fight anywhere, as we see. he's also humble, and while believing in himself, hasn't trashed anybody else.

in about 2 and a half months time, you guys will have to find another fighter to hate on, and the 147lb. division will have to find another excuse to avoid him, because the "he hasn't beaten anybody" excuse won't fly anymore.

What makes the entire ordeal hilarious is the fact that the same fan base that hypes Spence to the moon and back is the same group of folks whom trash GGG. If anything, GGG is more proven at this point

I think the new Spence fans go a bit overboard but to say that at this point ggg is more proven should be a discredit to golovkin, not Spence

GGG has the same resume issues as Spence, dude. Jacob's is his best opposition, something that GGG himself has stated.

Worse still, he's 35, so he has less time to build a legacy than Errol. He needs to go on a barnstorming run in the next 2-3 years, and if he has to go to 154 or 175, then so be it. GGG is supremely fit, and can fight 3-4 times a year. Lots of high profile fights.

If GGG becomes a big enough star and fights with him provide the top guys with the ability to earn large pay cheques, you'll likely find more and more of them legitimately challenging him.
