Any other Keith fans disappointed by him last night?

I love the guy, he represents everything I like in fighters - a great story, talent, charisma, punching power, hunger to be the best in his division, an understanding of the history of the sport.

I was confident he would win and I thought I would be so happy see Garcia officially lose for the first time - but that fight let me so deflated.

Thurman came out on fire, he hurt Danny too but then reverted to "boxing" because he couldn't figure out how to adjust to Garcia's countering without playing it safe. And then Keith just ran for the last 2 rounds, which was kinda lame to me, especially as he wasn't even that far ahead. I had it 7-5 Thurman, and in the end, he won the fight by a round on the scorecard too.

Look, I dislike Team Garcia as much as anyone but if that was anyone else, people would have taken his side against the excessive running, like say people did with Canelo when Lara. Now, Keith's movement was nowhere near as egregious as Lara's was but still, I am disappointed he never hurt Danny again after that 2nd round. If you think about it, Lamont dominated Garcia for the last 5 rounds in their fight in a way Thurman simply didn't do last night.

Last night should have been Keith's coming out party but.... :/

He was a whole level above Garcia and did what he wanted all night. I'm not dissapointed but he definitely could have gotten Garcia out of there, I was initially picking Thurman by ko, but when I thought about his tendencies I changed to decision. He wont knock a top player unless they make him have to knock them out.

Spence he might just spark though.

Yeah I felt the same way. He could've been a little more gutsy and a little more creative in the final rounds. But last year he gave us a FOTY contender so I can forgive him this one

I'm disappointed that Keith still didn't let go of his habit in Telegraphing is punches. He did what he had to do to beat garcia but it wasn't the performance I am looking for. He didn't set up traps or adjust to anything, just reverting back to boxing against a limited garcia, he should have set up traps and punish him, but naah.

... yes: "boxing" is just the right manner to avoid Danny's midrange hooks... and I expected Thurman to try to "play it safe", no fireworks included...

Not really. I knew that's how Thurman would fight against Garcia. Everyone knows that Garcia struggles with fighters with good footwork and lateral movement and Thurman played that plan to a T. The real winner is Herrera who laid out the blueprint. But anyways, you can blame Floyd for Thurman running around the last round, he started that trend.

I'm disappointed he couldn't KO the guy who got 2 robberies against Peterson and Harrera. I'm not too impressed with the WW division right now, hopefully Spence lives up to the hype and destroys Brook.

He played it safe. I think he realized Garcia was durable and the KO wasn't coming and also, Garcia's only chance to win was by KO. Getting in exchanges with such a big lead wouldn't have been the best idea, knowing if there's anyone that can end the fight with a home run KO it's Danny. Plus his corner was telling him he had a big lead and do not do anything ******.

He just had a decision to make, risk his lead and finish in style or just protect the lead and get out of the ring with the W. He chose the latter and I can understand that.

But he almost gave the fight away by relaxing in the last 3 rounds. The scorecards were too close for comfort. He should've at least banked the 10th and the 11th and danced in the 12th.
