Really? This is the narrative? Garcia wasn't doing anything for most of the fight himself so why blame Thurman? Garcia was only the aggressor in like three rounds, the rest was Thurman, especially the first half of the fight where he was very aggressive. If course he's going to have to slow it down to preserve energy midway through and in some later rounds, can't keep your foot on your gas the entire time or else he would get gassed.

The narrative should be "Thurman clearly beat and outclassed Garcia."
Then why was it split? Lol

Because boxing can't seem to have one card without some level of ****ery it seems. Judge either favoring one fighter or influenced by the crowd.

The same reason Frampton got a draw on the Santa Cruz card and Vargas got a split against McDonnell.

        Shitty boxing politics.

I thought Garcia could pull it out, but had it 113-115 Thurman. While it was no robbery (or even controversial), it was also not some beat down that so.e folks are acting like.. I think the residual hate Danny gets from his previous 'controversial' decisions is influencing some people to rate Thurman's performance as better than it really was. If other fighters moved the way Thurman did tonight, this board would be on fire with people crying about 'running'. Spence will hurt him, and Kieth will have to stay on his bike. Hopefully we get that fight; I really dont think Kieth is scared to face Spence.

Bro, that was nowhere near outclassed. He did just enough to win, and played it very safe. Nothing wrong with that at all, but he didn't show himself to be in a different class than garcia. He is better, but not of a different class.

Also they need to stop favoring a certain style. But I wont call anyone ******ed.
I picked Thurman because of the hand speed and mobility advantages. He isn't flat footed like Danny. I also didn't think Danny would be able to drop Keith because he hadn't dropped Guerrero, Paulie or Lamont at 47. It pretty much went as expected except I didn't think Thurman would finish the fight that way. It was the kind of fight where there were close rounds where Danny was doing the cleaner work early but wasn't active enough to maintain the lead in some of those rounds. There were atleast 3 rounds like that but they were still competitive. I knew the judges scores would vary for that reason. I could see people scoring it 116-112 for Thurman or even having a draw if you had Danny trailing 6-3 and gave him 10-12. I landed in the middle at 115-113. Thurman was more versatile in there tonight. He made Danny dig into his bag of tricks early by coming at him so hard those first 2 rounds. With Porter-Berto and Spence-Brook coming the WW division is finally shaking itself out post Mayweather!

I was rooting hard for Danny but it is what it is. Sigh... Thurman is alright I just think he's a bit overrated but oh well. Good win for Thurman

I enjoyed the fight it was good, especially the first 5 rounds. Afterwards I felt like Thurman had Garcia figured out. Danny's biggest flaw imo is his footwork and inability to consistently fight moving forward, thats going to cost him at the top tier competition because the rest of the pack are all more offensive minded than he is. He prefers to counter but he has to learn how to "turn it up" or else he will be easy work for the top 5 welter weight fighters.

if you are fair I don't see Danny winning a single round. in the round where he landed he almost went down in the opening.
