I completely agree with all of this. I think Gatti was capable of doing better, but I still think it would not have been close and would have ended the same way. Watching that fight, I knew Gatti was going to lose badly, but I like him, so I was hoping he'd do a bit more. I knew his only chance was a lucky shot, and about all he could do was hang in there as long as possible. People say he should have rushed Mayweather, but I think the fight would have ended quicker. I think the way he started the first round was the way he should have kept fighting, because it could have given the impression that he was at least in the fight, somewhat. In the end, I just dislike it when people say Gatti is **** because of the way he lost that fight. He didn't have to give Mayweather that fight, and he could have found a way out of that fight much earlier. Mayweather is going to go down as one of the best fighters in the last twenty years, so losing to him is nothin' to be ashamed of. Chuvalo couldn't beat Foreman, Ali, Frazier or Patterson, but I don't see anyone calling him ****. Everyone in boxing gives him respect. -
I actually think that Wilson Rodriguez gave Gatti a worse beating, in a way, but Rodriguez wasn't fast enough to keep away forever. That was a great come from behind victory. That kind of thing is just not possible against Mayweather unless you land a lucky shot.Originally posted by BadMagick...
Maybe, but it's not like Gatti's never been down in a fight before. What it came down to is exactly what Gatti said post-fight, Mayweather was just too fast for him. He was too skilled as well, but the biggest factor in that fight was the speed of Mayweather. Gatti couldn't find him at all, and that's why he could never get his punches off. Even had he bullrushed Mayweather he would have still been too slow, and Mayweather would pepper him with shots the whole way in, and Gatti still would have been TKO'ed; he was simply overmatched...Comment

Listen to what Roger said to Floyd after round 6 right before McGirt informed the ref that Gatti would not be coming out for round 7. Thank goodness McGirt knew when enough was enough because round 7 could have really looked bad given Roger's adviceComment

** Suggestion:Originally posted by beezy 14Wmute I was thinking the same thing, if he wasn't on his game then I don't know what is and I didn't see Gatti making PBF miss. I thought that's why Gatti said he's too quick after the fight.
Remove Floyds used jock strap from your face and watch the first 3 rounds. Gatti makes Floyd miss a bunch and is very competitive.Comment

Go see a mental hospital.
The fight was brutal and Floyd won every single round. I felt sorry for Gatti thoughComment

Please tell me you're joking right? Connecting on 60% of your power shots is "missing?"Originally posted by LondonRingRules** Suggestion:

I never said Gatti was winning. I said he was competitive and made Floyd miss many times and made him cautious the first 3 rounds. Unlike you yahoos, Floyd had enough brains to know Gatti could hurt him and chose to start slowly before turning up the heat.Comment

Yeah, I think Roger was being a bit unreasonable there. "Don't goto the body anymore." Wow, did he want Floyd to kill Gatti or something? I agree thank god the fight was stopped when it was. That 6th round was disguistingly brutal.Originally posted by Briman15Listen to what Roger said to Floyd after round 6 right before McGirt informed the ref that Gatti would not be coming out for round 7.
