It "took so long to make the fight" because Team Canelo said that the earliest it could happen was Sept 17. Team Canelo set this delayed timeline

Its still EARLY MARCH. They have SEVERAL MONTHS of time to continue negotiating if they really wanted to, and it wouldn't set back the Sept date.

I disagree that GGG should get a flat fee in a fight that is a potentially huge PPV though, and plenty of fighters and trainers said that's a bull**** offer too. I also don't feel it should have been anywhere below 160 while they both held belts.

Apart from that though, if they're doing purse and ppv splits as they rightly should, then Canelo should get the bigger slice.
Alvarez is a current junior middleweight titlist; Golovkin is a current middleweight titlist.

Why should Alvarez simply give Golovkin 160lbs without any concession from Golovkin?

Beyond that, if the reported $15m offer (on a fight that might clear $50m, when all is said and done), what would end up being an actual fair offer (for context's sake, Oscar and Floyd ended up splitting $75m between the two of them)?

I was talking about when they both held 160 belts, i didn't agree then that Canelo should have been pushing for a lower weight.

Different negotiations now, but then Canelo has now agreed to fight Chavez at 164, so he should have no issue with 160, despite apparently needing to grow into the weight.

It means the fighter who brings in the money.
