  • ggg been on the Cinnastick a whole lot recently. He salty about the check that's gonna come from the Chavez fight, and he still may not get a shot afterward. I keep wondering what happened to that "we just want the belts" talk? I guess the belts were shiny as he thought they'd be

            • This is about BUSINESS and GGG camp phuked up when they refused to play their B side role. GGG refused to drop weight killed a fight last year and now we see he is delusional in the amount he is asking for putting the fight in 2017 in jeopardy. He has been putting up roadblocks from day 1 and if the fight doesn't happen this year it will because of GGG he has a 15m offer on the table for christ sake.

Canelo is not the first guy to vacate a belt rather then be told what to do. Manny and Cotto both won belts at catcheweights and vacated because they are PPV stars and are bigger then any belt. They decide who they fighting, when, at what weight and how much they are willing to pay their opponent. Floyd would of without a doubt vacated as well but these crooked belt organizations did something unprecedented and REFUSED to enforce any of his mandatories for 2 years straight. Why? Because Floyd won a belt at catchweight 152 and had no intentions of fighting at 154 and the moment they enforced an opponent and deadline he was going to dump the belt in the trash. Point is you not going to put a time table, weight restriction, or dictate the opponent to PPV stars.

GGG misplayed this, his promoter said leading up to Canelo/Cotto that they had NO PROBLEM going to a catchweight to land the fight with Canelo if he won. Then after months later GGG's trainer, promoter, and GGG all said we refuse to negotiate weight and would only fight at 160. Floyd who had EVERY belt and accolade you can imagine the clear #1 P4P fighter in the world had to agree to EVERY demand Oscar who was at the twilight of his career no longer top P4P lists but still the top PPV draw. Floyd had to go to a weight Oscar demanded, had to take the small split Oscar gave him, fight on Oscars date, ring size and every other demand you can think of. Sergio was the TRUE Middelweight king not some fraud paper champ given belts outside the ring like GGG and already beat Chavez. Sergio already a part of a successful PPV not a PPV flop artist like GGG. And yet none of that helped him in negotiations with Cotto because he was the bigger star. He wanted the fight now so he agreed to drop a few pounds, give Cotto first name billing despite him being the challenger for Sergio's belt, took a small percent of the money and ever other demand Cotto wanted. If he doesn't do all that he doesn't get the fight just like GGG. It's called business and in business one side has the leverage.

GGG from day 1 thought him being a mandatory gave him leverage in negotiations. Canelo proved it didn't threw the belt in the trash and now Canelo holds all the cards. If all you cared about is the belt then you can have it but if you want to fight Canelo with or without a belt you will be the B side and you will have to play your role. Cotto, Floyd, Canelo all had to play the B side role at one point in their careers.

                • Dear god boxing fans what the fk?!? Seriously the sheer amount of people here hampering on about money is hilarious. Who the fck cares what a fighter makes, seriously. At WHAT POINT DID WE TURN THE SPORT INTO A FKING GOLDMAN SACHS PROFITABILITY MEETING?!? Fans talking about who is worth what...demand the fcking fight and save the business talk to for your own fking portfolios. Tired of coward @zz fans hiding behind ppv numbers and purses just so their favorite fighter doesn't get his shhh pushed in. Mofo dropped a belt as a LINEAL CHAMPION that's the only thing that matters here. Demand the fight or stfu. He had the deck in his favor and said NO. END OF STORY!

I already schooled you long before that GBP wouldn't let their bout go to purse bid, and now recently you've been saying the same thing...

councils have rules. if the fighters can't come into agreement, what happens? what happens to a strap if a fighter doesn't agree to anything?

vacating and stripping are the same thing? take your time bruh
EVERYBODY knows that fight would never have been made from a purse bid, yet ******s like you go on page after page after page about what the splits would have been, and blah blah blah. The purse bid splits are irrelevant, because the fight would never get made that way.

And yes, vacating and stripping can indeed be pretty much the same thing. Kinda like quitting 10 minutes before you are about to get fired.
